Really?  On his article?  Who has say over that?  A real question because I have no idea.  If not him i'm guessing the editor?

Yep - the editor. Writer's don't have the final say on what appears in print.

Typical .... puck-drop-night in the NHL, and no one says a word.
Some great games.
Washington looks pissed. Sharks still reeling (fall to lowly Colorado).
Only 79 more to go!

Glad to see the Avs win on Joe Sakic Night.
He deserved a great effort. And got it.

I'll be on from time to time.  Just didn't know anyone else would.

I'm actually pissed off.  I wanted to watch the Caps but couldn't.  Since DTV and Versus got in that pissing match, DTV dropped them.  I knew about already.  What I didn't realize is that if Versus is carrying the game you don't get it on Center Ice.  That means I won't get the Wild when they are on Versus .  All I had lastnight was the Leafs and the Habs.   It was a typical whine fest.

1st pick Tavares scored tonight.
Can't believe he is playing .... saw him a couple times last year and really did not think he'd be ready for this level already.
Looks like I was wrong.

Versus wanted to charge them a big increase and DTV said shove it.  Sucks.  Any Wild game on that channel won't be shown on the Center Ice package.  I'm not at all happy.

That link doesn't seem to work. Try this:

Clearly an accident because he just swung that stick out of frustration - but a guy's got to be more careful with a stick that can do so much damage.

The little prick can tell the whole story, and he still thinks HE is the victim here.
Lesson should have been ... shut your mouth and play.
And paybacks are a bitch. Did he ever deny what the ref accused him of? Hell no, because that's his game. He's a Vancouver Canuck.
Was the ref (if true) right? No.
Seeing a scary trend, towards more selfish-minded players.
Thankfully there are enough old-school guys left in the league, that this may still handle itself.

I don't usually check the satndings much this time of year so I was surprised last night when on the Wild game they showed the playoff teams and I saw that Detroit wasn't at the top or even in the playoff scene right now

Burrows nailed hard by the NHL .... $2500!
That's what, about a buck and a half to you and I?
Why waste your time, commish?

It'll be an interesting this to watch unfold.  He won't get away with crap anymore.  He looks at a ref wrong and it's 2.  Couldn't happen to a better guy/team.

You know it Jeff.
Couple of my cronies were defending Burrows and ripping the ref, and I reminded them ... it doesn't work that way in the NHL.
Its still a "toe the line" mentality. The refs protect their own.
And anyone who has seen Burrows play KNOWS what happened here.
Its about respect for the game. Diving and acting is frowned upon.

Is it me or is the Devils trade for Kovi one of the biggest head scratcher's in the history of sports?   If you gave me the choice of the Devils or the Charlestown Chiefs, my money would have been on the Chiefs

MONTREAL -- Bob Gainey is resigning as the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, according to media reports circulating from several Canadian media outlets.
The team has called a 4 p.m. ET news conference for what it calls "an important announcement regarding the Club's management." ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun confirmed that announcement is Gainey's resignation.
Pierre Gauthier will take over for Gainey. Gauthier is a former GM of the Ottawa Senators and Anaheim Ducks. He's been the Canadiens' assistant GM since 2006.
A team source told LeBrun that Gauthier will be named the team's permanent GM and won't be saddled with an interim tag.
Montreal is currently sixth in the Eastern Conference, eight points out of fifth place, but only three points ahead of No. 8 Philadelphia

Haven't been following the entire NHL/Olympics tie in.

Are they doing the whole Pros playing and shutting down the season for a while again??

If so, will this help MN, with the goalies nursing owies??
