Amazed again at how quickly teams and goalies respond from embarassments.
The Lightning had a JUMP to them last night.
Bishop went from sucking, to outstanding, in two short days.

Two very interesting series pounding it out right now.
Doesn't it feel like the Wild stopped playing a month ago?
How worn down would we be by now?

Been awesome to see Stamkos grow into a vet.
Never thought he'd be the kind of leader he currently is.
Uber talented guy who knew he had to change his ways if he wanted to reach the top.

It seems like we are watching a whole new season now and the Wild weren't invited.
As mentally beat as we looked after Chicago, I just can't see us competing at the same level that these teams are right now.
As promising as things looked to begin last season, it appears we gained no ground on the elite teams in the league. All we can hope for now, is our young guys take the next step sooner rather than later.

I definitely think we gained ground. Actually quite a lot of ground.

Just not enough yet to be in it for the long haul.

As Melrose states today ... IF the plan of the Ducks to be physical with the Hawks IS working, we will start finding out tonight.
Games 5-6-7 will tell if the plan is working.
Normally I'd say yes ... but this is Chicago. They somehow summon up a reserve every time you think they cannot.
Winner tonight takes a huge leap forward.

Uh oh. 2-0 with 14 minutes to go in the first. Anaheim is moving better, hitting better, and shooting the puck. The Hawks are a step behind on d. It could be a looooong night.

I don't think I have seen the Hawks d-men ever play like they are right now. They are hearing footsteps every time they retrieve the puck off the wall and are making lots of bad decisions. I think all those previous hits are taking their toll after all.

Anaheim in "holy runaway train" mode right now.
They'd kick anyone's ass tonight.
Nothing the Hawks can do.

Which is exactly what Melrose preached today
He literally said ..... The Hawks four D will hear footsteps all night and will turn pucks over.
If the plan has worked.

Wow, held the Hawks to 3 shots for the period. I bet that doesn't happen often to this team.

Yep, as Mutt and Jeff are saying ... Coach Q may as well give the bulk of the remaining D minutes to mr 5 and Mr 6.
That's only IF you get after it the first ten here and can't close the lead.

Wow
That's one of the most amazing stats ever
Hawks 14-0 in games 5 and 6 after being tied 2-2

It looks like the refs are going to make sure of that too. If they are going to call stick play they need to call it both ways.

And the Ducks do what every body does ... They stop going to the net
They stop even looking
Plays right into the Hawks hands

You can't play keep away for forty minutes

Can't wait to hear Milbury and jones after this period
Still think it's over boys?
Coach Q musta had it on in the Hawks locker room
Chicagos been just as dominant this period as Anaheim was in the first
