Joe ... I like you so don't read this ....

Psssst, the rest of you, been watching a lot of Hawks games.
Couple things.
Know how we get screwed over in that building?
Good news ... It's not just us.
And ... Know how it seems to most of us that they're really irritating?
Good news ..... It's not just us.

I heard that it's kind of a campaign because people want to see bruisers in the three on three format. Kind of a facetious campaign I think.

On Sunday afternoon the NHL Department of Player Safety announced they would fine Vancouver Canucks' Brandon Prust $5,000 for the spear he delivered to Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand during Saturday night's game. The spear to the gut was completely intentional and uncalled for, and with some time to think about his actions one may believe he would regret the cheap shot and publicly apologize for what he did. After practice on Sunday, Prust was asked whether he had any problems with the fine, and his answer may surprise you.

And the Hawks make me feel a little better today. I'd still trade one of the Stanley Cups for a Vikes Super Bowl win, though. Or for Teddy to win an MVP award, just to shortdick Jeff Allen!

Yes. He was on the ice for a few minutes. I don't know if you saw any of the game, but it was almost comical watching him try to catch up with a puck on what could have been a clean breakaway opportunity. He plays a good game in front of the net, but is a liability in space.

I didn't, but that is what I see when I see him.
Very hard to spot him on that team and not have him stick out like a sore thumb.
You play with such speed, and he's the rock in your shoe.
Really can only spot use him on O zone face-offs and ends of periods, etc ...
Really got to keep up with play these days, or you're not here long.
Heater and an injured Vanek stuck out for us in the same way. You want their net presence, but simply cant afford to have their anchor traits slow everyone else down.
3rd and 4th liners used to be able to plod. No more. In fact, most of them now FLY.

I agree with you on all points, SoMn. Speed and defense trumps physical presence in today's league. Bickell is not very good at either of those. He made A LOT of money with a good few games in the playoffs a couple of years ago. But he's not that guy on a very consistent basis.

Very impressed with the Caps last night.
Nisky, Oshie, Holtby, all looking great, helping Ovie out.
Even a coaching change couldn't help the Pens last night.

Btw .... Fascinating to hear that Pitt is considering press-boxing Syd the Kyd.
And we somehow think Pomm is above that? Mind-boggling.

Scuderi to joes Hawks ... Good pickup.
Gives them some needed jam back on the blue line.

They had to give up Daley to do it, but it looks like a good move. He was only getting about 12-14 minutes a game with the Hawks. Scuderi brings some real defensive stability for the younger guys.

Every time I hear about his 26 game point streak, I am in awe of Wayne's 51 game streak. He was so damn good at the game it was unreal.

Basically TWICE as long, isn't that something?

We all realize what a joke goaltending was ... but STILL, the numbers blow-away that little shit did at the time was unprecedented.
I remember some Brenkhus-type nerd at the time doing some equations, where it worked out to an NBAer averaging 60 pts a night, an NFL QB throwing for 70 TDs, etc ...
He didn't erase records, he obliterated them.
