Los Angeles Lakers forward Kobe Bryant tweeted at Minnesota player Rachel Banham after she hit a game-winning 3-pointer to lead Minnesota to a 78-76 home win over Iowa.

Banham is the player who tied the NCAA record with 60 points on Feb. 7 in a double-overtime win over Northwestern.

With Minnesota trailing by one and less than three seconds remaining, Banham dribbled across half court into a screen at the top of the key. Her defender got caught on the screen, and Banham pulled up from beyond the arc and faded toward the left sideline as she let the game winner go.

Banham finished with 35 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for the Gophers.

In her 60-point barrage, the 5-foot-9 guard made 19 of 32 shots, including 8-of-15 from 3-point range, and hit 14 of 16 free throws. She had eight rebounds, four assists and two steals en route to shattering the single-game scoring record for the school (44) and Big Ten (49).

Banham entered play Monday night as the nation's third-leading scorer and averaging 26.1 points per game.

Banham is clutch.
Banham is boss.
Great screen to free her up. IA's defense let her shoot that way too easily.

Kobe Tweets Banham twice in a week. Good for her.

That was epic. You had to see it to believe it. Down 1 point, Banham takes a 3 at the buzzer....falling down.....NOTHING BUT NET.

She's the new Lindsay Whalen...only better.

She is a better shooter than Whalen ever was, especially from the 3. Her recent stretch is Maya Moore like. Consistently taking over down the stretch, hitting clutch 3's to win games or send them to OT where she finishes the deal. She is now 2nd all time in Big Ten scoring and needs 79 points in her final 4 games to break the record. Also 20th all time in NCAA history.

I said she is better than Whalen. No reason to argue.

I watched yesterday. Banham is an absolute assassin right now. 1st quarter ends on a Banham buzzer beater 3 from mid court. 1st haif ends on a Banham buzzer beater 3. She was 9 of 13 from 3pt land. The lack of an inside game is really hurting the Gophers. All we can do is wonder how good this team could have been if Zahui B. hadn't left early for the WNBA.

She didn't do much as a rookie. About 10 minutes 3 pt / 2 rb per game.

Shame she's played her way out of being a potential Lynx pick - barring a significant trade.

Yeah, those Mamba tweets don't help either. The Lynx obviously won't give up Moore or Fowles and I don't know who else another team would want in a trade up. Simone, Brunson and Whalen are all late in their careers. And obviously our picks are way too late in the round.

And we don't have a 1st round pick this year. We have the 14th pick (#2 in the 2nd round) and before the 60 point game, that was a potential spot for her.

Now she might be going in the top half of the 1st round.

The latest mock has her going #3 overall to Connecticut. The Lynx aren't moving up that high. The assets required to move that high are players they would never trade like Fowles or Moore.

And before the 60 point game she was mocked at #13.

112 points in 2 games will do wonders for your draft stock...

Why would she be mocked? She never did anything to deserve it.
