Big win over #12 Syracuse. Good character win. They led all game, then fell behind by 5 late and clawed back to win it.

20/18 for Bello. 24/9 for Bell.

Hell of a finish.

But we really need a bench...

Whalen went with a very short bench for this game. Bell, Bello and Pitts all played all 40 minutes. Jasmine Brunson played 38 minutes and Lamke played 28. Only two Gophers saw time off the bench with Palma Kaposi getting 12 minutes in giving Lamke a breather and Irene Garrido playing just two minutes.

Lindsay kind of went Thibs on them. Hopefully she is just picking her spots with it, while she develops her bench. Bell led the scoring despite a poor shooting night. Bello was the best player on the floor. If she was in the general vicinity, there was no such thing as a 50/50 ball.

No one played more than 24 minutes, and 6 bench players got at least 11 as the Gophers crushed Wiggins' sister's team.

The Cardinals scored 4 points in the first quarter and 11 in the half...

Sometimes I feel like ....The only hope for sports in this state .... is if Lindsay and her husband turn out about 12 kids. Of both sexes.

The Gophers stretch it out to 9-0 with a road win over Boston College. Destiny Pitts with a career high of 35 points to lead the way.

I think she's likely to transfer after this season as I don't know that she's a Whalen-type player.

3rd best start in team history.

2002-03: 12-0 (Whalen's Jr season)
2003-04: 15-0 (Whalen's Sr season)

There seems to be a common denominator here.

Whalen's Gophers are 11-0 and the highest ranked Big10 team at #12. Pseudo Big10 Team with former Gophers coach Maryland is ranked 4.

Lindsey's first big test is just getting underway on Big 10 Network right now, vs Wisconsin.

I see a national title in our near future.

Thanks Whalen.

I'm convinced a Lindsay Whalen coached Gophers team will never lose a game.

Whalen wearing a strange outfit tonight. Makes her look bigger than she is. Bad fashion choice. Good coaching.

I noticed she looked big, not sure if it was all the outfit's fault, but it didn't help. Probably needs to adjust diet to much less physical activity. My wife recently switched jobs from a semi-active job to a desk job and put on 10 lbs in a month.

I looked at the box score and saw that the Gophers shooting was pathetic, but the Wisconsin shooting was even more pathetic. Is this how it is with women's college basketball?

Lamke stepping up will really help in the rugged big ten....If you remember their best teams....they included the the big Australian that left after two years and MCcarville.

Expecting one of their top 3 point shooters back (Hubbard) after having foot surgery in October may help----if she can make it back. The big thing concerning me is the depth of this team. I see Bello's twin sister played a little bit but they mostly have an iron six with the freshman guard and 5-6 minutes from the senior big Kaposi.
