First time the women's team has sold out Williams Arena since Whalen was a senior.

So proud of two of our home-town heroes. Lindsay Whalen and Joe Mauer. One just starting her journey, one just ending his, but it sure is fun to be along for the rides.

The AP with some early love for Lindsay. Her Gophers cracked the top 25.

I just checked that poll and the Gophers exactly 25. I was surprised to see only one Big10 School ranked higher and that was Iowa. Not much respect for Big10 Ladies hoops.

They are not one of the Big 10. They are one of the big 14 or 16 or whatever the hell it is now.

Absolutely.

Several times in fact.

If she does well coaching, she'll be the "Washington".

Speaking of Maryland they are coached by former Minnesota Head Coach Brenda Frese who currently has the #1 ranked recruiting class in the country.

Last year, Maryland women’s basketball head coach Brenda Frese signed the No. 5 recruiting class, according to ESPNw. That included the No. 4 overall prospect, Shakira Austin, as well as Nos. 33 and 34, Taylor Mikesell and Olivia Owens. Through two games in the 2018-19 season, that class has already shown its potential. Austin and Mikesell look like future stars, and Owens has flashed potential in limited playing time.
And as the National Letter of Intent early signing period has opened, the Terrapins have signed another elite class. Four of the nation’s top 10 prospects are still not committed, let alone signed, but as of now, Maryland holds the No. 1 recruiting class in the country. The Terrapins held four commitments heading into the Wednesday start to the signing period, and signed all four on the first possible day.

I watched a lot of the Maryland vs. South Carolina game yesterday. Maryland crushed them. South Carolina has one of the best programs in the country. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ms. Frese take her Terrapins to the Final 4 this season.
