The Gophers touch a Sue? 5 minutes.

I was game jumping last night and watch quite a bit of the Gophers win last night. This team seems to play in spurts, where they look good for a while and then bad for a while. Hard to get a read on them, as Clarkson had only 3 shots in the first half of the game, yet they were still in the game. Happy to see a win, but they don't have the feel of a contender right now.

Looks like the Gophers have an OK team this year. It will be fun beating them ...... I mean playing them this season. The result isn't predetermined.... or is it?

Signs of life in Gopher land.
Good to see
No promises tho.
Incredibly sad to see half the seats at the mooch empty
Used to be the place to be. No longer.

I just wish they were on TV like the old days. The B10 set fans back to the 1940's with this lack of TV coverage

But what has happened to those raucous hockey crowds? I started noticing a couple of years ago that Mariucci is virtually empty. I have seen the same thing for Badger home games too.

Is it just because of the switch to the Big Ten? Is it because so few games are televised these days that no one feels an affinity to the team anymore? It's embarrassing and really sad.

I really think the lack of a consistant schedule hurts attendance. We can no longer count on games every Friday and Saturday at 7PM. Tonights game time isn't the norm any more. Tomorrow they play at 4PM. It seems games are scheduled for TV revenue for the B10 and not so much for those that want to actually see the game live.

Wow, St Clouds goalie just gave up a Duby special short handed and 10 seconds later St Cloud got it right back.

Good jump last night
The boys came to play
Need the sweep. Wont gain any ground nationally by beating MSU but you'll drop like a rock if you lose to em.
Once again last night half the crowd came dressed as empty seats.
Gophs have a couple really slick young guys. Handsy. And clever.

You think all those empty seats are corporate seats? I just can't understand people paying $30-40 a seat and not showing......

I know a couple families with those seats on the glass ... can't give them away most nights.
Sad.
I mean, really, really really sad.
Twenty years ago those people had people BEGGING them for tickets to the scrub games, just so they could go to a game.
Frightening how its changed. No raucous kids sections anymore either.
What the hell are all the students doing? Must just go home and pay no attention. Sad.
Wait, I said that ....

Kids these days live thier lives in their handheld devices. Most have no time or desire for actual interpersonal relations, that is where all the students are.....look on twitter and snapchat I guess.

That generation is entering the workforce now. Scary. Of course soon they will be the ones in charge and nobody will leave their bedroom. Everything will be done from home. They hate real people. But they all do. So it will all work out because they will all live the same lifestyle. Maybe it will finally weed out the rednekcs? Just looking for a possible positive.

So are they going to be worth something this year, or flop as usual and the coach still keeps his job?

Missed the 1st, but the 2nd period was a pretty fun period of hockey. Gophers getting a little chippy since that clown nailed Schierhorn in the head. Need to settle down and beat em on the board where it counts.
