Gophers, Minnesota State, Duluth and Bemidji all have great chances of finishing in the Top 12 this season.

Wow, I just noticed they play again Monday and Tuesday against Ohio State at Mariucci. Both games on BTN at 7:30 PM so set your DVR's.

Looks like there are a couple legit powerhouses in the B10 this year
Slowly becoming the IT league for college hockey
This series will tell us some "tings" about us

Yeap. Remember being 12 and on Sunday night, after another brutal loss by our Vikings, thinking "well, at least I get our traditional late November Mon/Tues clash with Buckeyes in hockey!"?.

What f-'d up year.

Well that sure was a good period of hockey for the Gophers. OSU rang the post on the first shot of the game and didn't get another shot on goal after that. Controlled the play and the scoreboard 2-0 after 1.

Has LaFontaine been working out with Duby?
He seems to have that Duh-oh Duby soft goal every game.
I hope Covid-19 doesn't derail this season because this is a real fun team to watch.

Yeah, our young D-men all look really good.
And our forward lines all seem even enough to just roll 4 lines and not worry too much about it.
We have a tendency to try to get a little to cute sometimes instead of just taking the shot, but it hasn't hurt us yet.
This team is a lot tougher on the board battles and seems to win more than they lose, which I haven't seen from a Gopher team in quite some time.
Another win and another fun game to watch.

The vision and the ice awareness of this roster is so much better than it has been
They aren't above making the simple play
Passes are tape to tape and with purpose
Responsible all over the ice
Really liking what we're seeing here so far.

Another win tonight for a 4-0 start to the season. A great way to start out the season for sure.
Now they get a week off before another Thursday-Friday and then Tuesday-Wednesday series.....very strange scheduling, but at least we get to watch some hockey.

A solid end-of-a-long-week win
Did what they had to
Still show signs of not taking scoring opps seriously enough
But hoping that will soon be fixed
Could have been a 5-6-zip game easily, but inability to bear down and score kept it too tight
really fun start fellas
Feels like we may be working our way back up to where this program is supposed to be

Now we start really finding out what we have
Road games
Playing from behind
Playing against older teams with some purpose
The schedule couldn't have been easier to start, but we needed it
PSU and OSU are young and starting over. Wisconsin pummeled PSU after they left here, so we need to slow our roll a little.
i will say, tho, that this is by far the best TEAM we've had a in a longggggg time.

Agree. Had to record it and watch late but I like what I saw. Ranta was the best we had last year and I'm not sure even noticed him last night. That's a good sign.

First period was great. We were flying and all over them. We faded as the game went on but that's expected with 4 in 6 days. You could say OSU grew during the game but I don't think so. Our legs were getting heavy.

What we are good at:

Speed. The whole team is fast and we skates really well. A real strong point for the season.

D. The way we move the puck from defense to offense is impressive. Our blue line to blue line passes jump start immediate offense. It's impressive how well our back moves the puck (to include Laf)

Forechecking. We are relentless when we get it down low. It's not one guy chasing the puck. It's the whole system harassing the guy with the puck

What we need to work on:

Getting out of our zone. Especially as the game wore on we had trouble getting out down low. I'm hoping it was more due to the tired legs I mentioned. Bigger/stronger teams will punish us with that.

All in all, great start. I won't mention Sammy Walker was really good because he's from Edina
