Dont know what to say, on one hand they showed more heart than last season by coming back from 3 and four goal deficits, on the toher hand they responded poorly after nearly getting blown out in the home opener. We have offense but no defense.

The team defense is terrible and the defenseman continue to get freshman mistakes from their upperclassman. UNO is a good team that has a great coaching staff, two of which were Gopher assistants.

Lucia is seriously on thin ice as its become common knowledge that players are leaving becasue the NHL feels the coaching is hampering their developement. Is it a coincidence that since Guentzel left the program has declined...why wasnt his son Gabe recruited? Stauber a solid goalie coach left. My understanding is Hill is coaching defense and never played the position and it shows with these turnovers and breakdowns in coverage in the DZONE.

Terrible start after a sweep the week before, very disappointing.

They look really good, adjusted well the second night, stayed out of the box, blocked shots, tightend up the D and the goalie made some KEY saves.

Guentzel is a very good coach, he will demand every last bit out of the players and they will get better, he or Kevin Hartzell would be my next coach at the U.

Dean Blais is a great coach and UNO displayed the same GRIT as his national championships teams at UND. They will punish you for making mistakes and always protect the puck well...odd man rushes clearly favored UNO by a wide margin.

Went to the exhibition against British columbia...Gophers are a much better team with some good frosh, better offense...have to improve defensively. UNO will make some noise this season in the WCHA and will push for a NCAA spot.

I do think UNO's staff is 2nd to none. Extremely well coached.

Hear hear.
Blais and Guentzel are 2 of the best in the biz.
Guentzel had as much to do with the Gophers 2 National Champs as anyone did.
And Blais is one tough sob with a great hockey mind.
Its no surprise that team is solid and good, and will be much better than the silly #8 rating they were given by the other coaches in the WCHA.

Thanks Scott. I think the Gophers will be better this year than last. They have to get the turnovers under control. Never a good thing to get swept at home but UNO is much better team then they are getting credit for. They showed some fight by coming back, however, moral victories dont cut it at the U. Turnovers must be cut back, DZONE has to be adjusted, get the forwards deeper to help out in front and trust Kangas to handle the point shots. Thats my concern the inability of this coaching staff to adjust.

Our back checking was utterly pathetic on Saturday night.  Kangas didn't play too well but some of the rebounds have to be handled by the guys coming back.

What a great first period. The boys were really skating well and got some great chances, though they needed Patterson a couple times, too.

Really liking Pattersons ability right now.
Was a big Kangas guy, but he has lost it right now.
Patterson is calm and lets shots hit him.
Sounds silly, but its a huge part of goaltending. Some guys get over-athletic and over-aggressive, and end up costing themselves and their teams.

Nice win at CC
Follow it up with another, please.
Big to answer with 2 third-period goals.

Well, boys ... you're Minnesota's last hope for a win today.
We're 0-3 right now in the last couple hours.  (Gophs FB/Wild/Wolves) all smacked around convincingly.

Hear that, Lynn.
One Viking win could go a long way to easing all this other pain.

Condon, Cepis, and the Gopher Hockey men salvage some pride tonight for Minnesotans.
9-4 win to sweep CC on the road.
Solid weekend boys!

Not real excited by Pattersons 4 goals allowd on 28 shots, but I do like his 4-0-0 record.

Go get 'em next year, boys.

OK, maybe I'm overreacting. They did have a nice couple games last weekend.

But what's going on tonight? Down 5-0 after 2 periods.

1-4 at home in the WCHA and  2-0 on the road.  Patterson had a 3 game win streak and he goes with Kangas?  Offense goes from 9 to 0...what is up with this team at home?

Probably a bit of a lapse but we did score 9.  Why do they play so poorly at home and with Kangas in net?

Wisconsin isn't even considered a quality team this year. They are ranked #15, which in NCAA hockey is like being unranked in any other sport.

Why Kangas?
Why?
Why?
The never-should-happen losses keep piling up on this team.
