This Gopher hockey team has been a monumental disappointment. Earlier in the season Lou Nanne all but said it's a lock that they win it all this season. Maybe it's the depression of playing in the Big 10 instead of the WCHA, just like the fans feel? A lack of excitement in the arena and on the streets and about town in the neighborhood bars. No energy from the fanbase or the players. Sketchy TV schedule. Just an all-around icky vibe. Is there any way out of the Big 10? I think it should be blown up. It's killing college hockey at the U, while it seems to be thriving at all the other Minnesota DI colleges. Big 10 hockey was even a worse idea than we thought it was - and we thought it was a dreadful idea.

Agree Matt. It's hard to watch. I had the game on but was doing other things at the same time. That was never the case before the B10. I use to be glued to it. Now it's like "meh". The announcers, the arena's, the crowd, the camera angles.....it all just reeks.

If it doesn't shape up, the U is gonna really feel it in recruiting soon. I'm sure UND, St. Cloud, etc. are telling recruits "no way you want to play Big 10 hockey. Play for us and you'll have an energized fanbase and play one of the best conference schedules in the country." The Big 10 schools will TRY to convince recruits that being seen on the Big 10 Network will be huge for them. Problem is, it's not huge. It's terrible. You never know when the games are on, and most of them aren't on TV anyway. If it keeps going down the road it's going, I don't see the U being a very good hockey program at all 5 years from now. They'll probably still be fine compared to other Big 10 schools, but I think pretty much every NCHC team and maybe a couple WCHA teams will pass them by as truer hockey destination schools.

Great stuff guys
First year of my life I dont even care where they are or who they're playing
I had no idea the WCHA meant so much to me
I'm heartbroken. Seriously. This current league and feeling .... sucks.

Wow! I've never seen such domination, for 20 solid minutes, end up 1-0.

Wisconsin sucks. We should be up 6-0. 18 SOG for Gophers before Wisconsin put one on net. If we lose this game, I give up.

How in the hell did we not score there? Easy open net from 2 feet away and he pops it over the boards!

This has to be the most frustrating Gophers hockey game I've ever watched. Not sure I can do the 3rd period. Got a real bad feeling and I don't care to witness it.

If we lose or tie this game, it's a cruel joke.

Could be a double whammy for me tonight. Bemidji outshot Lake Superior State 44-26, but lost 1-0 on a goal scored with 1 second left in the 3rd period.

That's it. Lost the shootout. I'm done with this team. Supposed to be #1 in the country, now we're probably deserving of dropping out of the Top 20. Have fun with the rest of the season, boys. I can't do it.

I only watched the first period last night and left with the feeling Rumple was going to steal this one in the end. I read the Strib headlines this morning and sure enough my feeling was right. Looking like a lost season unless things turn quickly and they make a huge run to finish off.

I don't know what's wrong with them. They have the size/speed/talent/goal scorers/puck moving dmen/goaltending....coaching. You name it. it's just baffling. I've never seen anything like last night.

It is baffling isn't it. For some reason this group just doesn't seem to have the chemistry to go along with all of the measurable. I hate to single out players, but in my mind we don't have the depth we have had in last few years. Our 3rd and 4th lines aren't as dominating as last year.

I tuned in just in time for the final 30 seconds. Nice to see a few more goals on the board. But, can they keep the pedal to the metal and blow them out like they should? They are overdue for a good solid game all around.

Things got pretty nasty at the end there with a cheap head shot thrown by bucky. Hope the NCAA steps in and gives the punk more than one game off for the DQ. It would be at least 2 games in the NHL.
