Just unreal
And they wonder why no one cares

Its the equivalent of Florida Sate vs Alabama in Football ... and no one was allowed to see it on TV

absolutely pathetic mishandling of media

I guess it's probably better.  My heart is still recovering from that epic battle between PSU and Bentley

I am going to try and stream the game on BTNtoGo as I watch the Wild game on FSN+. If you get BTN on your cable provider you can stream the game for free. Just had to sign in using my Xfinity account.

I pay for the sports pack on DTV so i get FSN Detroit. Gonna be a lot of "pause one game, flip to the other" tonight.

3-0 with 6 minutes to go in the first. Rau with a sick backhander on the PP.

The stream is pretty good so far. All three goals on special teams....2-PP, 1-shorty. Maybe the Wild should watch the Gophers PP for some pointers...LOL.

Shootouts in college is so lame.  I would say the same if we had won.

I agree about shootouts. Not a big fan of shootouts at all. I liked the old days when a tie was tie and everybody moved on. These days it seems everything needs to have a winner..... Back in the day I used to play hockey because I loved playing the game. The score at the end of the day was irrelevant. We were just out there having fun.

Gophers haven't played at home in 59 days and it looks like they haven't played in that long. Not a good showing so far tonight at all.

I hope I see a better game out of the Gophers tomorrow. I only get down to Marriucci once or twice a year and hate when I go there and they play like crap.

Well the Gophers got a win in OT, but it was a very uninspiring effort on their part. I really don't see this team going anywhere in the NCAA's if they even make it this year. I swear, Fasching, Ambroz and Marshall are the only 3 willing to make a body check. Our defensemen rarely take their man out of the play with a good check and have a tendency to live and die with the stick poke check instead of just taking the man out. As for goal scoring....it was like watching the Wild. There was a point last night where we had out shot them 31-11 and yet were only up 2-1. Too much perimeter play and nobody willing to attack the center of the ice and go to the paint. I will say the one guy on the team that really stuck out with his hustle and tenacity was Vinni Lettieri. The kid isn't the biggest or most skilled, but if all his teammates worked as hard as him every shift we just might have something. Must be the blood lines.

Once we turned off the Wild game (ick) we watched some of the Mich. Tech vs. Wisconsin game (the Gopher game wasn't televised). I would describe Mich. Tech's effort exactly as you described the Gopher game above stfrank. They are ranked number five and were playing against a team with one win and they looked like they came in assuming they'd win without trying. They also had a SOG advantage of about triple, but couldn't get anything in the net and in the end Wisconsin won.

Both games demonstrate how important mental preparation is. If you look at your opponent as a team that is easy to beat, you're going to play poorly. It's up to the coaches to redirect that thinking, but honestly they are probably just as vulnerable to assuming that as the players.

Shoot. Overtime vs. Michigan and right after a great save by Wilcox Michigan plants one in the back of the net.

Minnesota teams can get there. We just can't seem to win.

I agree Lynn. It is getting to where I just expect my teams to find a way to lose in the end.
