The Ax looked good. Better than Leidner ever looked. Ever!!!!

I was thinking the same thing. I think the Liedner years made me forget what a D1 quarterback should look like. We've got one tonight.

There is something wrong with the defensive players NMSU has recruited. Guys bounce off them like rubber balls.

I'd take the Ax out of the game. No point risking injury.

Winfield's return, though it should be taken with a grain of salt because it was some piss poor attempts at tackling was still one on the most dynamic returns I've ever seen.

I have never seen a team more allergic to tackling than this NMSU team.

And a W

Good deal

When was the last time a MN QB had a 98 QB rating in a game?

On track for a winning season.

Not a "good looking" QB, but he looks good.

Same old Gophers.....questionable offense and terrible defense to start the game.

Its unreal
We now have another coach who

goes for it all the way down the field
appears to be all-in on the process
gambles, gambles, gambles,
and then

settles for a freaking 20 yard field goal
Some of our red zone 3rd down calls were mind-boggling at best, utterly stooopid at worst.

For the positives, came around after a slow start
Flooded the field with freshmen, we may be building something
We finally have a guy who kinda even appears to know how to play QB
Our D has athletes, our skill guys have improved.
I'm eating a lot of crow this morning.
Thought our local hero would never see the field, instead, he played every down. And looked pretty solid.
Glad PJ was not happy, overall. I hear he gave them a D+.
I like that. Tons of room for improvement.

Foolishly spurned the hometown Gophers to play for the Buckeyes... He's dead to me.

The Big 10 appears to me to be the toughest conference in college football as it was last year.
So many of the top coaches and teams. Going to be a challenge from week to week.

Didn't he commit to Glen Mason and then change to Ohio State when Mason was fired?

Laurinaitis graduated Ohio State before Mason was fired. According to Laurinaitis' parents, Mason never bothered to even try to recruit him. They were completely baffled by it.

When they asked Mason about it, he probably gave them the same baffled look he always had when looking at the scoreboard.
