Wow, in my Gopher fandom lifetime we have never boat raced Nebraska like that. We were bigger and stronger…….THAN NEBRASKA I expected our athleticism to give them problems but not our strength. IT WAS NEBRASKA. Wow, just wow. What a great overall victory.

I just sat there most of the night with a big ass grin on.
We
Were
More
PHYSICAL
Than
Them.

The last two games, this big-ass offensive line has started imposing its will. I kept hearing, coming into the game, about Nebraska's big defensive front that was going to be a big load for our O-line to handle. Our guys just drove them right off the line scrimmage all game long.

Good to see we got away from the big mistakes on offense and special teams that were turning into 7 points every time.

I like what I am seeing. The 3 headed running attack behind a monster line is wearing down defenses over the course of the game. Morgan is able to consistently make plays through the air to a very talented receiving group. This is the most multidimensional I can remember our offense being in a very long time.

The Gophers are making the people who picked them for the bottom of the Big Ten western division look awfully stupid and / or lazy. Now it's a matter of getting that consistency ingrained over these next two games to prepare for the bigger challenges to come.

As much as I love what the offense has improved weekly....Morgan & stud WRs one week, senior rbs the next, etc.

Our Def Cord is really showing his stars. There was a stat of our defense since Fleck fired the last Def Cord last year.....the defense has improved every week also.

I’m an admitted Gopher bobo and even I was surprised that they cracked the ratings at 20. Now show that you deserve it... and higher.

You want higher?

I've noticed in all of the polling, Wisconsin and Penn State continue to be chronically overrated.

I can't relate to this Gophers team. Haven't watched much this season. Probably shouldn't start now. Having a hard time connecting with this crew.

Might be one of their best teams in a long while....better start connecting soon or miss out.

It is a foreign concept to me. I need my Gophers football teams to collapse so there is order in my world. Still time. So OK, I'm all in.

I'm liking them, Matt

But ... we haven't been confronted with a tight game where clock management is needed
Will our boy PJ be all lost like "Glen Mason Face" used to be?
One of the last pieces to the puzzle. How will we handle pressure?

Comment from Daily Gopher:

I have a buddy who went through Gopher recruiting with his kid this year. When he spent a day with Fleck and the team, he came away feeling that it was 100% genuine. The team spends nights learning to shop, cook, set the table, use the right utensils, doing laundry…he is teaching kids more than football.

Still. That's a lot of "momma boys" type stuff to learn at this age. My word.

There's a line between taking kids to brothels and getting them laid Pitino-style, and this MissManners type stuff.
And both cross the line, badly. IMO.

Very different styles, but both can be highly educational.

Yeah, it doesn't get any creepier than teaching kids how to take care of themselves and function in society.

The best parents still have weaknesses. Pretty good recruiting IMO.

Its a cute story when they're 6-0 and ranked
Lose a bunch of games and lets see what's said about a football coach teaching grown young men … manners.
These are the regular, daily interactions between coaches and players, not that big of a deal really.
Just sounds funny.
Its interesting to see people delve in deep when things are going great, or going badly.

Let's keep in mind...

We were pretty bad in the non-conference games. I think there's a false sense of greatness here and throughout the state. We could very well have been 1-2 or possibly 0-3 in the first 3 games of the season, but a few things ended up breaking our way. We have played some of the worst teams in the Big 10 to start the season...and that will continue to even greater degrees when we take on Rutgers and Maryland. Be prepared for sh*t to hit the fan after that. And then we can whine again about a mid-low-level Bowl game, being suckered in, and "same old Gophers" talk. Just being the voice of reason. But let's enjoy it while we can.

Nah, I'll be pissed for sure. Am whenever we lose, no matter to who. If we lose to the Penn State's of the world, I don't think we'll be blown out. I've seen serious upgrades this year with this team. This aint the same Gophers I've seen for 10 years. We have real athletes where we need them, a QB that can hurt you with his arm and beef where we need it. Do we have flaws? Absolutely. We are getting better every week though and that's extremely exciting.
