ORIGINAL: thebigo When does the talespin start? What leads you to believe there will be one? This team has speed all over the field, a sign of better recruiting. Eight seniors on defense is also big factor. Well, not having paid much attention, I was thinking how much could they have improved since that narrow/could have been a loss win over SD State? Which normally would lead to a possible projection of a 0-2 win Big Ten portion of the schedule. Just checked the schedules looks like SD State just lost their first game since then, a narrow loss to unbeaten ND State. Different division sure, but I guess in retrospect it looks like SD State was a tougher opponent than I had originally thought. That said, the 5 Big 10 opponents they've beat have a total of 6 wins in the Big 10, and about 3 of those were over Rutgers, which is the equivalent of having a bye week, and having a 1 added to your win column. But like they say, you don't make the schedule, you just play the guys on the other sideline. They would be doing well to get 2 wins against the 3 top 20 opponents they've got left on their schedule, Northwestern is probably a gimme. I would say 3 losses in their last 4 would be something of a tailspin, if you are truly a top 20 team you should be able to get the occasional win against a top 20 opponent. It also depends on how they "show" in these games, the actual win/loss may be less important.
