My condolences to Tanner Morgan, who's father died yesterday.

Sorry to hear about this.

Predictions?

This is hard to say. Last year was so messed up it’s hard to know where anyone stands. I could see this game being competitive. I could also see the gophers losing by 5 touchdowns. Neither would surprise me.

If I was in Vegas though I’d put a modest bet on the gophers just for fun to cover the 14 point spread.

The path to an upset of Ohio State is no mystery. The Gophers massive and experienced offensive line is going to have to dominate the line of scrimmage from the opening snap. Ibraham will be key. The Gophers need to grind out long, time consuming TD drives. We can't expect the defense to shut them down, but they can make a couple of key stops. If they can do this (much easier said than done) they at least have a shot.

Wow. It's already Gopher football season again. Seemed like last season ended just yesterday.

Yes for all those reasons that’s why if I was betting I’d put a small wager on the gophers if not to win to at least keep it within two touchdowns. But being a lifetime gophers fan has conditioned to me to expect the worst. that’s why I say A rout would not surprise me.

I will say this. If the Gophers do manage to win tonight it will be because Fleck has coached them into an absolute frenzy. That is their only shot, to be ultra prepared, focused, jacked up on row the boat eliteness and ready to run through walls.

Therefore if they do win, I will be a total Fleck bobo.

Finally got outstanding run blocking on that TD.

14 straight for the good guys to take the 4 point lead.

We have OSU off balance on defense. Good coaching.

Ibrahim continues to be a stud.

We gave it the prototypical good MN effort, but way outclassed athletically. Speed kills, and they have it everywhere and we don't.

That said, we were way to conservative way too early, especially when Mo left the game. Good effort, but we are a long way from ELITE.

Agree 100%. The defense is flat out awful and the d-line is very soft.

Morgan is not very good. Should have had three interceptions and ended up with none (and all were terrible throws). Two defenders dropped one right in their hands and a third was called back for a penalty on Ohio State. Is he like a 9th year player? Seems like the kid has been around for ever and never gotten any better, much like the guy before him. Why can't this program get a quarterback from the 21st century?

OSU cb's were committing PI routinely. Pretty sad when a team that has superior athletes all over the field yet still gets gift after gift from the officials.

Another year snake oil salesman can’t field a defense with his wonderful recruits

Ibrahim had 29 carries before getting hurt.

And the kept on running Even with 7 defenders crowded the line on first down

Of course they were never getting the ball back with a chance to tie

Overrated coach
Program is average
At best

#16 looks like a dude though. Why is he not playing every down?

If I had to guess, I'd say Ibrahim will miss the majority of the season. That looked like a calf and, if so, that's a painful deal. The boot would suggest torn calf muscle, which is nothing to fool around with because it's attached to the Achilles.

I can’t find any silver lining in a game where they gave up big plays
And looked worse than a high school team on those plays

I thought Ohio State looked like a very overrated team. That defense is terrible.

Gophers had the ball for 38:41 and lost by two touchdowns. They gave up 495 yards in 21:19.

If Ohio State had intercepted any of the three balls that hit them right in the hands it would have been a 35-point blowout. The one they did was overturned.

Anybody know what the COVID protocols were for that game last night? That looked like a super spreader event right there. It was great to see a game with fans, but I have a sense the end result isn't going to look pretty.

If the refs actually had the guts to call pass interference, the Gophers would have piled up a lot more points. They grab arms like no other team. The worst was when the corner grabbed Jackson's right arm with his left hand - Jackson pulled free - grabbed it again with his right hand and Jackson pulled free - finally yanked it down with his left hand again leaving Jackson to attempt a one handed catch while falling backwards. After the play, the dbag gets up taunting Jackson. Thankfully at this point the ref stepped in and gave him a stern talking to.
