I wonder why Brewster suspended the two players early on but not this guy? There is always something behind the scenes that we don't know about because of confidentiality.

Honestly Lynn,

Those 2 guys were before the season and now we are in season (need him vs. not needing them).  I'm not saying it's right just what I think the reasoning is.   I have nothing to substantiate that other then a hunch.

Exactly. We need wins to get us to a Bowl game. Brewster does not want to throw his Bowl chances out the window when there's still a chance.

Why do football players put those tight bands around their calves and upper arms?

Weber overthrowing everyone. And not even close. Only one more year of this crap.

Apparently those bands are merely a "fashion statement."

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/18/sports/football/18bands.html?_r=1

Wow. How lame is that?

I guess my first instinct was right. No purpose whatsoever.

Doesn't college football have an uncatchable pass rule? We got a gift there. IL called for pass interference in the endzone on a pass from Weber that landed 10 feet out of bounds.

What is the fascination of all of those long passes Brewster? Let's work the ball down the field. It also looks like on running plays we are seeing 4 and 5 a carry so why not run a little more

He just refuses to set his feet. He drops back and just bounces up and down until he throws the ball.

Yuck.
At least Iowa got brought back to earth.
Northwestern at home, and they end your dreams ... that sounds like a Minnesota scenario (if by some miracle we ever had a decent season going ...)

We do see some consistency from the Gophers, they consistently give up 1st downs on 3rd and longs. Maybe someday we will see the Gophers get a good defensive coordinator

I love the new stadium. The punt block TD was pretty great, made the game worthwhile. My theory is that Weber, the kicker, and several other players were up late doing shots. Only way to explain their crappy play.

Yeap Kurtis, our kicker was horrible.  Eggs for today:

5 egg performance - Weber.  He was horrible all day.  I don't know the number but I would be shocked if he didn't give up -100 yards on sacks.  The "game" was when he took the sack at the 1.

4 egg - Fisch.  I've said it a million times.  This guy is so far out of his league it's not even funny.

3 egg - our D.  They are horrible.

2 egg - kicker.  What did he have 4 kicks out of bounds?

1 egg - Fisch.  I hate him so I wanted to just mention that

Jeff on the defense, lets put some of that blame on the defensive coordinator. He calls the plays that allows all of the 3rd and 10's become first downs. If you're going to blitz, then play up on the receivers so the QB doesn't have the quick outs

No doubt Fargo.  The D as a whole get the blame there.  Cord all the way down.

Would love to see them dump Brewster. He needs to go.

Figured SDSU would give us fits ...
Their leading rusher, Minnett, grew up a couple miles down the road from me.
Great kid, recruited pretty hard by Mason, but not at all by Brewster.
These Subdivision teams play some fun ball. Brookings is a rocking place when they host games over there.
They have stepped up their game nicely.
Its not a shame to lose to them anymore (but we still should certainly win)
85 scholarships for the big boys, 62 for the Subdivision teams

This is embarrassing for senior day. Schedule a weaker team and let them hang around

I've defended Weber in the past, but I can't today.

Again sloppy play with to many penalties

Yep, no discipline.
Kills a team eventually.
They've been going offsides all season and never have seemed to work on it. Kills them.
And the run game can't even beat squads like SDSU.
Amazing how far that has fallen.
Our running attack 5 years ago would POUND these guys.

Instead, they are pounding us with Kyle Minnett.
I'm telling you  .... he is LOVING this.
Everyone thought he was crazy to not go to the U anyway ... but its worked out pretty well.
