Status: offline 		Michaels and/or Madden made an interesting observation last night about how Indy concentrates so much on developing their own guys, rather than fool around with free agency. All but four current players on the Colts have never played for any other team than the Colts. The kicker and punter would be two and without looking I can't think of who the other two would be - but that is a pretty amazing stat. And clearly they've been successful with their strategy.

Status: offline 		Agreed it's easy to get tired of all Mannings exposure but let's face it, he's as good as anyone playing now. He has the ring and has the arm, instincts, and leadership to continue to exceed.

In an era with mics and offensive coordinators and scripting of plays for he first half, he's the closest thing to a freelance QB. Maybe some of his gesturing is theatrics, but a lot of it is actually him reading the defense and then, at the line of scrimage, making sure all 10 guys on his team know what play he's calling. He literally decides pass or run as he's lining up a lot of the time. Frankly, I'll put up with the gestures, and if it helps, I hope T-Jack starts convulsing or doing the robot before each play. :scream:

The thing that impresses me the most about him is his vision. He always sees the open WR. If you're a WR for Indy, and if you beat your man, he will get you the ball. Professional He is not a strong armed QB and I always like the guys with the big guns. I really can't stand all his BS at the LOS pretending he is doing so much. Personal His golden boy image is a fake. Look at what he did to the girl in college. I can't stand all the commercials. Enough is enough But the only guy I would take over him right now is Brady. Status: offline 		-- Patriots Could Lose Draft Pick(s) over Spying Incident -- Tue Sep 11, 2007 The Boston Herald reports the New England Patriots were caught illegally filming the Jets’ defensive signals Sunday - for at least the fourth time in the past year - and could lose a draft pick as a result, a league source said Monday. The Pats have a reputation throughout the league for such chicanery, noted former competition committee member Charley Casserly, who first broke the story of the Pats stealing signs last year for CBS. But not until the Jets confiscated a camera and sent it to the league offices following Sunday’s game - which HC Bill Belichick admitted being aware of during his weekly visit to WEEI - did rival clubs break their silence. According to league sources, the Packers and Lions also nabbed the Patriots filming their defensive signals, while the Bills suspected it and now are reviewing last year’s game tapes. Casserly’s report dealt with either the Jets, Bills, Broncos or Bengals. "There’s a league-wide perception that this is something they do," one rival executive noted. In each instance, the pattern appears to be the same. A Patriots employee with a team-issued credential records opposing coaches signaling the defensive plays. It’s unclear what the Pats do with the information, though sources in Green Bay believed the cameraman was relaying information to the Patriots bench via hand signals. Earlier this summer, a league spokesman said all 32 teams received a reminder that it is illegal to videotape opposing signals, adding that cameras can’t be used on the sidelines, in the booth, or in the locker room during a game. According to an ESPN report, the eight-man competition committee could investigate. Among its members are Titans HC Jeff Fisher and Colts president Bill Polian, who have clashed with the Pats in the past, as well as Lions GM Matt Millen, whose team believes it caught the Pats doing the same thing last December.

Tomlinson said, "I think the Patriots actually live by the saying, 'If you're not cheatin, you're not trying.' I mean, I think that's the way … they live off that statement. You keep hearing the different stories of people complaining about stuff that they do. So I'm not surprised."

Status: offline 		Patriots | League confiscates camera after claims of team spying on Jets Mon, 10 Sep 2007 21:31:20 -0700 Chris Mortensen, of ESPN.com, reports NFL security has confiscated a video camera and its tape from a New England Patriots employee on the team's sideline during the Week 1 game against the New York Jets in a suspected spying incident, according to sources. The camera and its tape were placed in a sealed box and forwarded to the league office for investigation. The Patriots' cameraman is suspected of aiming his camera at Jets' defensive coaches who were sending signals to their unit on the field. The NFL is also investigating some radio frequency issues that occurred during the game. It's not the first time the Patriots have had a cameraman on the field. Green Bay Packers president Bob Harlan confirmed a similar incident Nov. 19, 2006. The same cameraman who was questioned by NFL security Sunday, Sept. 9, was also the cameraman the Packers removed from the sideline and escorted from the field in 2006, according to Packers security official Doug Collins. "From what I can remember, he had quite a fit when we took him out. We had gotten word before the game that they [the Patriots] did this sort of thing, so we were looking for it," Harlan said.

Status: offline 		IMO, this somewhat tarnishes Belicek and what the Pats have accomplished. To me, this is different from a player getting busted for steroids or some other enhancement. This is a comment to the integrity of the coaching staff and organization. It makes Belicek just look like a slimy weasel who will win at all costs even if it means compromising ethics along the way.

Status: offline 		-- NFL Might Call Packers about Patriots Camera Incident in 2006 -- Tue Sep 11, 2007 The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the Green Bay Packers may get a call from the NFL regarding the latest flap between the New England Patriots and New York Jets. According to several news reports, the Patriots are being accused of placing a video photographer on the sideline of their game against the Jets Sunday in the Meadowlands in an attempt to steal signals from their AFC East rival. Jets security caught the photographer aiming his camera at Jets defensive coaches on the field and confiscated the video tape. It has been forwarded it to the NFL for inspection. ESPN reported that this might not be the first time that the Patriots have attempted to steal signals that way, citing an incident last year at Lambeau Field where a video photographer with a Patriots-issued credential was told to put his camera down during the Packers-Patriots game Nov. 19. Packers spokesman Jeff Blumb confirmed that someone with a Patriots official pass was caught videotaping the game last year, but he said the Packers shut him down before the second quarter began because he was not part of the approved on-field photography pool. He said the Packers did not accuse him of stealing signals. "We asked him to put the camera away and he did," Blumb said. "Then he went behind their bench and worked with their still video crew. He was not a pool cameraman." Blumb said the Packers didn't confiscate his video. He said there was dialogue between the photographer and security officials about what he was doing, but the Packers didn't take any action other than to tell him to stop shooting the game.

Because WTAM is the Browns' flagship radio station, the news is being regarded in media circles are legit. Per WTAM, Frye is being traded to make room for Ken Dorsey. Dorsey?? :shrug:

I can't believe that atnaltA (post-Vick), Kansas City, Detroit, Miami all thought that they didn't need him It seems many coaches would rather take a re-tread with no baggage than take a chance on a guy who can actually play but doesn't kiss their rear
