People forget this is not the first incident of questionable conduct perpretrated by Vick. He got stopped in the airport with what was then thought to be an illegal substance (seems like that story kind of just went away, so who knows what really happened there), one of his cars was stopped with two idiots inside drunk and in the possession of drugs, not to mention he told Goddell a bold-faced lie to his face when asked about the dog issue when it first surfaced. I did not know this, but prior to all of that, Vick was in an airport with a couple of people and two of those folks stole a watch. Bottom line, this guy is a bad apple and surrounds himself with similar characters. And while he may not party and shoot up strip joints like rockstar Pacman Jones, his conduct is nontheless terrible. Banning him from training camp was a small hit and is not the same thing as a season suspension. But even if it was, how was that not the right thing to do? Pacman Jones was suspended for an entire season without having gone to trial and the NFLPA bought off on that. Pacman was not even indicted by a Federal Grand Jury. So how is this any different? Michael Vick is a dumbass that did not know how to not act like a small time hood, fighting dogs for thousands of dollars after he started making millions a year. The NFLPA bought off on the training camp suspension and the Commissioner reserves the right to tack on any length of time to any of the NFL team-imposed suspensions. Again, let's not forget that Michael Vick has been indicted on four different Federal charges by a grand jury. Not accussed by municipal police or involved in an incident at a strip club or something real minor like Ced Griffin's pants sag saga. The only saving grace Vick has in the NFL's case is Roger Goddell wants to review the 18-page indictment before he proceeds with any kind of punishment, from the Falcons or his office.[/quote] None of that matters The NFL has established precedent in this area and they can't change that for Vick. Yesterday listening to Vick's lawyer say Mike apologises to his Mother, his teammates and the organization, my first thought was, if he is innocent like he just told the judge, why does he need to apologize? Rome today said the same thing.

"When the idea was presented to us, we simply couldn't resist." Vick pleaded not guilty Thursday to federal charges related to an alleged dogfighting ring. His trial begins Nov. 26. Status: offline 		Michael Vick is sunk. One of his co-defendants has agreed to a plea bargain and will have his hearing Monday morning. It was on ESPN all last night. More than likely, dude is going to roll-over on Vick to save his own ass. So basically, even if he was not the guy, Vick will be fingered as the ring leader. Way to go, dummy.

Status: offline 		I heard on the radio this morning that one of Vick's cohorts is heading to WV to possibly "cut a deal" with prosecutors.. What these guys are doing with dogs is unforgettable and unforgivable. But, man, I hate it when the "deals" are cut where the pigeon skates for stabbing his "friends" in the back. I guess you can say they're all losers but the deal maker drops even lower in my opinion.

"We Support Vick a Human Being Over Dogs," was the message of one placard to honking passing cars on Northside Drive. Other supporters said they believed Vick should be given the benefit of the doubt until his day in court. "Look at what he has done for this city — he's made this city a ton of money every Sunday," said Hiram Melvin, 50 of Decatur. "This dogfighting has been going on for years. It's not something that just started. It's not a big deal." Sunday's rally was organized by New Order, a Marietta-based human rights group.

Status: offline 		-- Vick Co-Defendant Pleads Guilty to Dogfighting Conspiracy -- Mon Jul 30, 2007 The Virginian-Pilot reports a co-defendant told federal prosecutors that Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick "almost exclusively funded" a dogfighting operation known as Bad Newz Kennels and provided the money to bet on matches, according to a document released today in conjunction with the man’s guilty plea in U.S. District Court. Tony Taylor of Hampton formally accepted a plea deal this morning to the charge that he conspired with Vick, Purnell Peace and Quanis Phillips to create and run a dogfighting venture in 2001. Taylor said he left the operation in September 2004 "following a disagreement with Phillips and others," according to the statement of facts that was filed with his guilty plea today. Taylor told U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson he voluntarily confessed to committing the crime in partnership with Peace, Phillips and Vick. He has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in the cases against Vick and the other defendants. Taylor faces a maximum term of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. His plea agreement did not promise him any reduction in that sentence.

Status: offline 		When I first read that I thought it was something out of "The Onion". When I realized it wasn't that it wasn't a parody, I realized there are some people that are just crazy. There are some people that don't care if their favorite football players are sick human beings as long as they are scoring touchdowns. It is really sad if you think about it.

Status: offline 		You have to understand where Vick is from (and honestly, where he is representing). The communities there worship him so the locals think he's being targeted. He does a lot of good in those local communities. He's a hero.
