Alabama has proven two things to me

1) They are not immune to getting upset a time or two each year, and

2) They are by far the dominant program in the country for quite awhile now.

We all just don't like to admit it.

UCF and Coach Frost are the College Football Story of the year!

Only to somebody from Nebraska.
The rest of the country is Meh, cool I guess.

The kid missing a hand is way cool.

maybe to other people with missing hands...

I think I hear them clapping...

the rest are "meh"

kind of like admitting how good Belichik and Brady are in the NFL

Their team is full of monsters...they are bigger, stronger and faster than everyone in the country

Curious about their Strength and Conditioning program...those boys take full advantage!

Any team that loses to Syracuse should automatically be disqualified from National Championship consideration, much less be the #1 seed in the playoffs.

I think it needs to go to eight teams. UCF should have been in there as a 7th or 8th seed.

Not sure how anyone wouldn't think that UCF was the football story of the year.
Rankings are subjective, but this team shocked the world I'm guessing.
Props to them, I love underdog stories.

You just need to think outside of your own box.
Do you really think anyone in SEC country is calling UCF the college football story of the year?
The College Football Story of the Year is and will be that there are two SEC teams in the final.
Also out here, I’ve heard nobody discuss it on print, talk radio, or in person.

It’s a neat story sure, I just thinkyou’re overplaying it with the obvious Nebraska connection.

I’d have loved to see UCF in an 8 team playoff and I admire Frost and the fact that he stayed and finished what he started.

I’ve never had a probelm admitting that.
I have had a problem that everybody else in the SEC is always elevated because of Alabama.

It would be like propping up the whole AFC East for 10years because of the Patriots.

I think there will be plenty of people that have very little interest in the finals because it IS two SEC teams.

Amen to that, me included.

Score will be 14-10

Gutsy call by Saban to go with true freshman over all conference QB.

That kid is about as humble as you can get. Refreshing to see.

I had very little interest in it because I don't have ESPN.

Agreed.
But one hell of a finish.
Once Bama decided they were going to win, it was .... Inevitable.
They play with a ferociousness and speed most cannot.
Their 3 and 4 deep guys are better than most starters. Don't like it, but it's true.

Fell in love with football early in my life, mostly by watching our Gophers and Vikings teams of the '60s.
Have never forgotten a New Years game in the early '70s where my Dad and I sat in silence (with our mouths open) watching Alabama and Oklahoma wishboning the crap out of each other.
A speed and mode of attack we had never seen.
3-4 decades later and it's still true. No longer the wishbone but a level of athletes that we rarely see here.

Calling Tua the "left handed Russell Wilson" this morning.
Pretty good comp. (after one big game)

But you notice that the difference between winning the big one and losing can be paper thin.

Easier to gamble with a few rings on his fingers,
Playing with house money now.
Still a bold and great call by Saban.

Just .... awful

Washington State quarterback Tyler Hilinski, 21, was found dead Tuesday in an apartment in Pullman, according to police.

He suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and a rifle and suicide note were found next to him, according to Pullman police.

Officers responded to his apartment to conduct a welfare check after Hilinski "did not show up for practice earlier in the day," police said.

Hilinski, a Claremont, Calif. native, just finished his redshirt sophomore season for the Cougars. He started the team's bowl game against Michigan State and was expected to take over the starting role next season. He enrolled at Washington State in January of 2015 after attending Upland High School in Southern California.

Washington State president Kirk Schulz tweeted, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Hilinski family.''

Hilinski's younger brother, Ryan, is a highly-regarded quarterback prospect in the Class of 2019.

No one knows.. maybe someone does, or his last message may give clues, but unfortunately, this country doesn’t give a rats ass about addressing mental health, until like in this case, it is too late...

If you have no medical coverage... you are at the mercy of a system that does. Not. Care.
