Andrew Luck finished 26th in passer ratings. Griffin was 3rd and Wilson was 4th. If Luck wins the Rookie of the Year that will speak volumes of how far we have not come.

Luck is several slots BELOW Christian Ponder in passer ratings

They will only compare him to other rookies and what they will see is all the 4th quarter comebacks.  With his HC sidelines most of the year.

Griffin should win...
Wilson should get considerable votes...

But when it comes to idiot reporters deciding things...they never get this shit right unless it is slapping them in the face.

Luck is a very good QB with a very high ceiling. I like him a lot. But all of a sudden all the football "experts" on TV have changed the way they rate QBs. Up until right now, it was always passer rating. And that doesn't even take into account Wilson and Griffin's running. Now they want to completely ignore Luck's INTs when rating for the award.

I was leaning Griffin until he got hurt. Since that time Wilson took his game even higher while Griffin has limped home down the stretch. Not his fault but Wilson stands out the most to me right now.

Russell Wilson tied Peyton Manning's all time passing TD record for rookie QBs. Except Wilson threw his 26 TD passes with just 10 INTs whereas Manning had 28 INTs his rookie

I wonder if Mike Tice will be considered for head coach in Chicago. I'm thinking not, but it's a possibility.

Will be 7 coaches gone by the end of the day or week, according to the experts.

The New York Jets are far from done. But their two initial moves were both correct.

New York fired embattled general manager Mike Tannenbaum and retained head coach Rex Ryan on Monday. This pair suffered back-to-back non-winning seasons in New York (6-10) -- and at least one had to pay for it.

Tannenbaum rightfully deserved a lion's share of the blame. He was most responsible for putting together a roster in New York that is old and overpaid.

A second consecutive late-season collapse, along with the presence of a new boss who didn't hire him, was enough to end Lovie Smith's nine-year tenure with the Chicago Bears.

Smith
The decision came quickly after the Bears missed the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported at about 10:40 a.m. ET that general manager Phil Emery was requesting interviews with head-coaching candidates from other NFL teams. As of 11 a.m. ET the Bears had made no announcement about his status but NFL.com was among the outlets reporting Smith had been fired.

My initial thought is that Smith got a fair run in Chicago. In an age of frenzied expectations and short hooks, he was the NFL's second-longest tenured coach. The Bears gave him six seasons to win a championship after he brought the Bears to Super Bowl XLI in 2006, but instead his teams missed the playoffs in all but one of those years. The Bears finished last season 1-5 after a 7-3 start, and in 2012 they became the second team in 23 seasons to miss the playoffs after starting 7-1.

While his defenses usually were among the NFL's best, Smith plowed through three offensive coordinators in the past four seasons and failed to give quarterback Jay Cutler a consistent environment to thrive. Smith's defense is in need of a personnel influx, considering its four best players -- linebackers Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs, defensive end Julius Peppers and cornerback Charles Tillman -- are all on the wrong side of 30 years old. It's fair for the Bears to hire a new coach to preside over that overhaul.

I don't get this:

QUOTE: "Andy Reid would bring instant credibility to Arizona if he were named Cardinals coach."

???

Whisenhunt not only has beaten Reid the last 2 years, he beat Reid when it counted - the NFC Championship Game - and took his team to the Super Bowl. How does hiring the guy who got beat routinely by the guy you fired give you credibility?

Why would hiring a guy that just got fired for sucking ass help your team at all?

The only thing hiring Reid would do for the Cardinals is make them more of a laughing stock.

It failed when you hired Denny Green.  Whisenhunt was a better hire that got you to a Superbowl.  Think morons...think.  Hire a good up and coming coordinator...

Exactly

In my memorym twice before they hired fired coaches and neither time worked out

Buddy Ryan
Dennis Green

Then they hire a top coordinator, Whisenhunt, and he takes them to the Super Bowl and they almost win!

So now they want to go back to the Ryan-Green nonsense?

Ried just came from a team with decent defensive personell, an ok running back good receivers, and a terrible QB situation and he coached them into oblivion.

Now a team that has decent defensive personnell, an ok running back, good receivers (including Fitz), and a terrible QB situation.

Just how dumb can Arizona be?

Cannot believe anyone would be excited by the prospect of an Andy Reid-type coming in ....
How depressing would that be?
