They are rebuilding a dynasty in NY. It could become very difficult to advance in the AL with the talent the Yankees are accumulating.

Didn't seem like Jetes got much in return. Surprising

No team was going to give up much to take on that contract. Plus I think there is a stipulation that if Stanton doesn't opt out of his contract in 2020 or something like that, that the Marlins have to send the Yankees another 30 Million

The players that are on the table for Cole are expendable....get it done and get Darvish too.

Hell the Mauer, Perk, Erv Santana, and Santiago/Nolasco money coming off of the books should make it easy to add Mccutch too.

They spent 146 million last year.
Before Arbitration they are at 73 million this year....adding Darvish, Cole, and Mccutch should be in their wheel house.

Neither of you accept the Periodic table.....Moore because it isn't mentioned in the bible. You......because you failed science all the time and became an accountant.

This is what the fans should expect.......getting both of them. Not that an offseason Rodney signing and a Pineda signing for 2019 are the team's signature moves this offseason.

The payroll was down to 110 million in 2016, about 143 in salaries after the Garcia, Nolasco, etc. payoffs. Should be in the 130-140 million in salaries if they are contending. Keep 10-15 of it for the mid summer trades. If the Twins aren't in the upper 120s every fan should be pissed.

They are at 73 Million with Arbitration for:
Esky, Grossman, Gibson, May, and Pressly

Team Control for:
Sano, Polanco, Kepler, Rosario, Buxton, Berrios, Enns, Jorge, Mejia, Romero,Boshers, Chargois, Curtiss, Duffey, Moya, Rogers, and Vargas

The Rays and Giants have agreed to a deal that will send Evan Longoria to San Francisco, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times (via Twitter).

Young infielder Christian Arroyo will head to Tampa Bay in return, per Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (Twitter links). Outfielder Denard Span is going with him, helping to offset some of Longoria’s salary. Young pitchers Stephen Woods and Matt Krook are also joining the Rays, Murray (via Twitter) and Passan (via Twitter) add.

HEY YOU STUPID TIRE KICKERS!!

The Yankees are reportedly working to acquire to Gerrit Cole from the Pirates, reports Yahoo Sports' Jeff Pasan.
According to Pasan, the sides are talking with the deal only a matter of time. He added that even if he doesn't end up in New York, Pittsburgh will still be trading him.
