There appears to be some big event tonight in NFL world.

Somehow, we will figure out a way to screw this up, badly.
Thanks, Twins, for putting us all in such an optimistic mood.

We need some HOPE at QB

I'm not talking Jeanine geraffalos brother or the Pitt kid either.
Going to be a long, bumpy journey tonight and tomm.
Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya, right now .....

Still better than
Fellas, it's been nice to know you

Although the day Gardenhire gives that speech, drinks are on me.

I'm going to be optimistic with whatever they do.

Manziel at 8, great, I hope it works out.
Donald at 8 or Gilbert, cool, defense needs the help.
Mosely at 8, good, long time coming, I hope he is Patrick Willis 2.0

Trade with Dallas and pick up Carr and an extra 2nd rounder and a 4th, good, plug some holes.
Bortles at 8, I trust Norv Turner on this.

Bridgewater at 8, great, I hope it works out.

I'm preparing myself not to be disappointed.

That's kind of my feeling, Murf. I don't love any of these qb's, but I also don't completely hate any of those top 4 either. So I can get behind any of them. Or Donald (have a badass front 4 on defense) or Mosley or Shazier (really need a LB) or Gilbert/Dennard. Really need a CB. Heck, even though it's a lesser need if we somehow got Watkins, I'd be all on board.

Lots of options and in Rick I Trust.

My hopes:

Manziel goes before 8 -- because I just don't think the Vikes can pull the trigger. At least then I won't have to be lamenting that we passed him up.

If he doesn't, then he's my first choice at 8 by a country mile. Second best option is trading down, third best option is grabbing a stud CB or LB.

If it's Bortles...I just don't even want to think about it.

Hear ya all.
I'm tired mostly of ... (We've always joked about this with the Twolves) ... If there are four sure things in the draft, we draft five.
If there are two, we draft third.
It's just the way it us with us. Whoever gets taken 7th tonight is half-way to the HOF.

As someone else said (Dave?) the last 2 drafts we have gotten at least 4 studs in the 1st rd, possibly 5. Out of 5. Looking for 2 more this year. (tradedown/then tradeup)

In Rick I Trust.

Spielman is eaaaaaasily the best GM of the 3 major sports here. Not that that's a high bar.

Until spielman straightens out the QB position, I will not be impressed.
(Doesn't have to be thru draft)

As much as I want in on the Johnny Wagon, I mostly just want him saved from being the latest to go to Cleveland and die.
He deserves better.

I'm not exonerating him from it, but I don't see much of a chance that he's had the last couple years really. Everywhere else, he's been pretty golden on upping the talent of this roster.

Certainly. I just don't know what he could have done.

Some of these suit choices are hideous
I'd not draft a few simply on their poor taste.

It's like WNBA night, when a whole mess of girls put on dresses for the third time in their life.

He's had SEVEN years...

In 6 of those years we've gone with a guy who we knew needed to be replaced from Day 1.

Add in his epic mishandling of the position in Miami...

There's something weird about it all.
I've been to a couple high-buck livestock auctions.
This is eerily similar.

I just can't get into all this draft stuff for that very reason

He wasn't "the" guy for the vast majority of that. He's been that for 2 1/2.

Awesome pick for Houston IMO. He has more potential than any DE in the history of the game, and if there's any situation that can help him live up to it, it's having the current best in the NFL opposite him, pushing him every day. Andrew Luck and Colts fans are scared as hell to face those two twice a year. One of my best buddies is a huge Colts fan. He thinks Luck's career is now all but over.
