An orange, thrown by a spectator in the stands, whizzed by Pearson at the goal line. The orange is visible on NFL Films footage of the play and was initially confused by some as a penalty flag and was also misinterpreted by some players on the Vikings defense as a penalty. More debris was thrown from the stands by angry Vikings fans, enraged that no penalty was called on Dallas.
Defensive tackle Alan Page argued vigorously with officials and was assessed a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the ensuing kickoff. On Minnesota's next possession with 14 seconds left to play, on second down at their own 10-yard line, a full Jack Daniel's whiskey bottle was thrown by a spectator. The bottle struck field judge Terzian in the head, creating a large forehead gash and rendering him unconscious. Cowboys strong safety Charlie Waters, who was in the Dallas huddle standing very close to Terzian, recounted that he thought the official had been shot. Terzian had to wear a compression bandage as he walked off the field; the wound caused a concussion and required 11 stitches. Terzian was replaced by substitute official Charley Musser for the final two plays

And really, any sport, right now.
At lower levels, how many "stars" do you see banged up, knocked out, or unable to perform?
It's common at the pro level of sports. Constantly pulling or tweaking or breaking something.
You watch a couple games at say, the level where The Bison just won their fourth straight national title.
Their QB, heck EVERY QB at that level .... Gets drilled time after time after time. And always gets up. And always plays.
And I get the whole size and speed thing. It just seems weird to me.
You get conditioned to see (at the higher levels) guys take a hit, and you expect the worst.
Baseball and basketball are even worse. Guy ran hard to first base? Oh my, he will be out for a month. It's just weird.
And probably not provable one way or another. But it seems so evident to me.

Oooo, sounds like a hidden injury disclosure.

Fine the Broncos.

To me, he looked like a guy w/little left in the tank. Had been that way for some time. The "injury" when he got bumped that one game was the start of the "invincibility" coming off.

Although, 9 1 and done in the playoffs helps that too

Status: offline 		Lots of talk around here that Peyton may hang it up now so he can get a team in a small window in "his" state of Tennesee. As Tommy Smith figures to sell soon. Would make a ton of sense. He'd be hugely, hugely popular and could start his next chapter right away. And Peyton's presence would go a long way towards them getting a new stadium or major stadium renovations soon. A lot of people think that if he ever decides to get into politics, he'll be Governor of TN one day.

I guess I'm rooting for Oregon, but I think it'll be a great game, and I think it'd be tough for me to bet against the physicality of Ohio State and a guy who's in the argument for the best coach ever in Urban Meyer. Should be a great game.

Ohio State drunk guy in Dallas just told me he thinks Oregon is good enough to keep the game close. Ok, cool, thanks.

Another reason I hate Meyer:

In recent years, though, another number has been affixed to the Meyer era. That number is 31, as in, at least 31 arrests of Florida’s football players from 2005 to 2010.

Many of the charges were typical of college campuses: under-age drinking, disorderly conduct, violations of open-container laws. But other, more serious charges included aggravated stalking, domestic violence by strangulation, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny and fraudulent use of credit cards, according to criminal record databases. Most of the cases never went to trial, the charges having been dropped or pleaded down.

Status: offline 		Meyer actually quit because he almost killed himself from stress. Can't fault him for that IMO.

I can see the "problem players" argument though. But I have immense respect for him as a coach and genuinely think he's a good guy. He and Saban are the best two coaches in the history of the game to me, and head and shoulders above everyone else right now IMO. And I got to see both of them as class acts first hand last year at an event that changed any negatives I had on either one. Both genuinely love what they do and are true ambassadors for the game.
