Is much as I don't like JJ he has to be in the conversation. Is see them ripping a few more titles in this run. Seriously who out there can beat them? I don't see anyone doing it. I don't see this team imploding, Knaus will not allow that to happen. As good as JJ is, this run is 80%(IMO) Knaus.

I think the Hendricks organization is cheating somehow and sooner or later will be found out how. Except for little E (why did they leave him out) are all dominate throughout the year

Whoa now! That's quite a accusation there, Jim. I haven't heard that one. Are there rumors floating around the NASCAR garages? That would be a difficult thing to keep secret, as these Organizations are hiring and firing guys all the time. If they were cheating, you'd think one of the employees/ex-employees would be disgruntled enough to spill the beans.

Just my thoughts, nothing else. It helps me through the day thinking like that

What happened to that one guy that used to do the NASCAR announcing back when it was carried on TNN?

Don't know who you mean, sorry.

I've only really been watching it since about 98 and I don't know who carried it then. While living in Calif, I was living real close to Riverside raceway and went to a few races there, including in the sponsors tower where the booze flowed freely. Some good times. I was also bar-tending at that time and worked many victory parties. The crews would party Friday and Sat at the club I worked. Yarbourough was a big a-hole

I finally figured this out. Bob Jenkins is the guy I'm thinking of. He was the best...I remember him announcing the first races I ever saw on TNN and ESPN. When he went away from NASCAR, I went away. He always brought such a down-home approach to broadcasting that just made it a comfortable sport to watch. I miss him. I see he's doing IndyCar announcing on Versus now....I'll have to check that out just for old time's sake.

Now, if  NASCAR was racing right now...the races would be fun with all that snow and ice!

Didn't they use to have races on frozen lakes? If not, that would be like watching a race on a dirt track but more fun

They still do. The Winter Carnival held an ice race on the lake across the street from my house a few years ago. It was awesome. For some reason the event has been dropped from the Winter Carnival now.

In HS we would take our cars out on the lake and do sh$t hooks. Probably a dumb idea as we had no idea how thick the ice was

What for?  The topic is boring as watching paint dry, or grass grow.

Looks like some new rules are coming for this season. Going back to spoilers. No out of bounds, at Dega and Daytona. No restrictions on bump drafting as well.

Supposedly more rule changes to be announced the 21st.

How about making them drive British cars (on the right side) every other race and making them turn right?

Wow those rules were put in as safety rules. Next they will take away restrictor plates

I think they should sprinkle some non competitive drivers in 4 cylinder engine cars on the track for the drivers to maneuver around. Maybe a couple of Oldsmobiles with their right turn signals on driven by octogenarians.

In the movie Cars, was it legal when Lightning McQueen jumped off of another car's tires under current NASCAR rules?

The plates will never go away, the insurance companies have seen to that(can't say I blame them). I was at that race where Allison went through the fence, one of the most surreal scenes I have witnessed in person.

They do, it's called sports car racing. Should I put you down for the Rolex 24 viewing party at the end of the month? LOL.

Well, Darrell Cartrip and Bob Cutlass both saw it happen and didn't say anything about it being illegal.  Also, the Piston Cup officials never penalized him so I say yeah.

As far as Nascar goes, I've never heard of any rule prohibiting that jump if someone can pull it off.

I'll keep posting.

The Rolex 24 was fantastic.

Stock-cars roll into Daytona next Thursday.

Has anyone else seen HBO 24/7 on Jimmy Johnson? No one does sports like HBO, it's good stuff.

I could care less what other people think of me. I just ignore the off topic stuff.

Sheesh...Grow a thicker skin.  The other three NASCAR fans can take a little ribbing.  Man up!  (wait, I forgot you are a fan of that Project Runway show...you may not be capable of "manning" up).

I'm back. I heard Chad Knaus thinks the new spoiler is not going to be as effective as a wing/fin would be. I want them to make whatever changes need to be made to make NASCAR fun again. This past season didn't have much excitement.

Danica did pretty good in her first stock car race. She spun out through the grass and up onto the track and still kept it off the wall. She went back to the end of the pack and made her way back up to 6. It was only an ARCA race, but it gave her the experience of the handling of that type car. We have to wait to see if she will drive in next weeks Nationwide race

Harvick 2 Shootouts in a row
