Slow start for Gordon thus far. Hopefully he gets it going.

Berrardino thought it was a bit odd that after spending 6 days down there, Terry Ryan left Chat yesterday morning instead of staying long enough to watch Berrios pitch the afternoon game. Almost like he is determined not to accelerate his promotion.

He probably had to pee.

Why do you care? His last name isn't Harris or Kielty or Crisp.

Harrison with his 11th double for Chattanooga tonight. Kepler with his 7th. Those kids keep on chugging. What a fun team to watch. For a team with 2 of baseball's very best prospects (plus Berrios/others on the staff) it's Walker/Kepler/Harrison leading the club in OPS so far from the real prospects. Crazy depth.

I think I'm going to go on Saturday and Sunday if anyone wants any specific report.

He's a little bigger, but he actually reminds me a lot of Pujols, body-type wise. Hopefully he doesn't grow out of that TOO much.

Make that 2 doubles for Kepler tonight. And a triple for Walker. Really terrific 1-6 in Chattanooga. Buxton/Polanco/Sano/Harrison/Kepler/Walker.

Turner still doesn't really do anything for me at C, but maybe he'll find himself. .592 OPS. We are absolutely gushing with potential stud OF'ers though. Need to find a team that needs 1-2 and has an abundance of pitching. Seattle?

Not to belabor the point, but who can’t get excited about this group at AA (not that far away, folks)?
Buxton-21 years old-#2 overall pick-.248/.306/.461/.767
Polanco-22 years old-large bonus signee-.303/.340/.455/.795
Sano-22 years old-large bonus signee-.235/.352/.496/.848
Harrison-22 years old-supplemental 1st rd pick-.303/.403/.467/.870
Kepler-22 years old-large bonus signee-.309/.327/.429/.756
Walker-23 years old-3rd rd pick-.250/.292/.539/.831

And then you have these young pitchers in addition to Meyer/Stewart/Thorpe, who are 3 of our 4 top pitching prospects:
AA-Berrios-20 years old-supplemental 1st rd pick-45.0 IP, 2.60 ERA, 53K, 15 BB, .224 BAA
A+-Hu-21 years old-large bonus signee-35.0 IP, 1.03 ERA, 36K, 6 BB, .185 BAA
A-Jorge-21 years old-large bonus signee-36.1 IP, 1.98 ERA, 37K, 7 BB, .213 BAA
A-Gonsalves-20 years old-4th rd pick-32.0 IP, 1.41 ERA, 43K, 7 BB, .173 BAA

I watched a kid leg a double into a triple yesterday in LL.
Just that much faster than the other kids.

Same way for Buxton, why stop at second.

I think we've gone over it before, but he's not super "quick". But once he gets going, he's blazing fast. Gazelle-like. There may be 1-2 guys faster than him from base to base (Billy Hamilton, etc.) but for a longer distance (say, 1st to home or 1st to 3rd) I don't think there's anyone faster, at any level, in our game.

This maybe belongs in the MLB thread, but Bubba Starling is really getting it going. He's a guy that I've always rooted for given his ultra-athlete pedigree and the hometown thing for KC. He's basically KC's Mauer. Slow start to his career but he's becoming the guy he was supposed to become. Spent the offseason working with George Brett. Now his line on the year (he's 22) in the minors (Wilmington and NW Arkansas) is .316/.409/.547/.956. I've seen him a few times for Wilmington (they're one of our venues) and I still have faith.

He's still going to be a good one for the Royals.

Here's a good piece on Gonsalves/Jorge which talks about Bubba also:

Oh, and Hu is going to AAA for a spot start on Tuesday! If he impresses, wow, he's a lot closer to the Twins than we think. He obviously doesn't have much left to prove at Ft. Myers.

I love the Hu

I think he may be our long lost # 2 starter

Berrios
Hu
Meyer
Gibson
May

"Who Are You"

Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?

I woke up in a Soho doorway
A policeman knew my name
He said "You can go sleep at home tonight
If you can get up and walk away"

I staggered back to the underground
And the breeze blew back my hair
I remember throwin' punches around
And preachin' from my chair

[chorus:]
Well, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)

I took the tube back out of town
Back to the Rollin' Pin
I felt a little like a dying clown
With a streak of Rin Tin Tin

I stretched back and I hiccupped
And looked back on my busy day
Eleven hours in the Tin Pan
God, there's got to be another way

Who are you?
Ooh wa ooh wa ooh wa ooh wa ...

Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?

[chorus]

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees

I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still recieve your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
