On the good news front, Seth posted a video of Sano taking BP again. Looks like he's getting close to fully back. And he looks like he's in pretty good shape too. Still think he and/or Buxton could force their way onto the team next year with really good springs.

The dude just doesn't care. Selfish prima donna who doesn't train properly for a pro athlete.

The 2014 Appalachian League All Star Team has been announced. Elizabethton is proud to have the following named:

U-INF: Nick Gordon

OF: Max Murphy

RHP: Felix Jorge

Player of the Year: Max Murphy

Pitcher of the Year: Felix Jorge

Manager of the Year: Ray Smith.

7th time Smith named manager of the year.

7 time MOY. Good with Young players.

Perhaps this guy should be replacing Gardy?

THINK!!!!!!! TR or JIM POHLAD or SOMEBODY!!!!

Not to dismiss it, but I'm not sure he's a stellar manager. The Twins' E-Town teams have always been a bit older than most I think.

Another good start for Meyer. Gonsalvez/Minier impressive. Michael keeps hitting.

Clearly Joe Mauer has been supervising his rehab. "Put down those weights Miguel, I just opened a fresh box of Ho Ho's and Real Housewives of Orange County is coming on."

I know it's only 13 games but his line is: 354/456/375/831

Finish the year in NB and get him to Rochester sometime next season....

IF Michael can stay healthy there's really some major decisions in the MI that need to be made soon. Like within a year or so. In order: Santana/Dozier/Rosario/Escobar/Polanco/Michael. Not to mention Gordon 3-4 years from now, who figures to be the best of all of them.

Great problem to have and one we haven't had in a LONG time.

I know it's irrational but all I can think about with Buxton playing in the AFL is Kubel and his time playing in the AFL.

Nice. My brother just texted me today about a possible bro Phoenix trip. Methinks I'll be making it an AFL trip.

Kind of surprised Sano's not on it, but he still could be added.

A few weeks ago, the Twins said they were looking at winter ball for him, but didn't think he'd be ready for the AFL. For whatever that's worth.

Hmm. That's odd to me. If he's already taking almost full-on BP, you'd think he'd be ready 6 weeks from now since his only real injury is the elbow. If nothing else they could still play him at 1b. Hoping he still ends up playing there.

Berrios is a man-child. Again, it's just so damn impressive what he and Thorpe are doing at their ages.

And re-doing the math, it's actually more like 7 weeks from now that the AFL starts. Could be that they're holding off and that Sano will be the late addition there as "big news" right around the time the press is starting to talk about Gardy's contract. Twins are good at distraction techniques.

If he is in AZ, I may as well book my flight now. Anyone else thinking of going?

I don't know if Sano is even allowed to go to the AFL. He is under off season contract to his winter team in the Dominican and I don't think he is allowed to play the AFL without their permission. They are highly unlikely to grant it because of his star power and the money he brings in.

? Really?

The Twins have to approve him playing winter ball I believe, Sweens. He's already under contract for it?

As TR noted, his extension was for two years so he is signed for 2015. As such, do you really think the Twin Cities press will discuss Gardy's contract other than to occasionally wonder if the Pohlads will terminate the last year?

The press here doesn't ask any tough questions. No need to worry about distracting the press. The buffet table does a great job for that.
