? Really?

The Twins have to approve him playing winter ball I believe, Sweens. He's already under contract for it?

This came up last year when people thought they might send him to the AFL after being shut down with his elbow pain. I don't remember the specific rules, but it was a very complicated deal for Sano to be allowed to play in the AFL. That was why he went to his winter team instead.

Gordon; good stuff.
Cannot say I've been impressed with Jorge. I don't quite get the love for him as a prospect really.
Polanco hopefully picking it up at AA.
I still like Walker but it's tough to be a productive ML hitter with a .303 OBP. He's shown some really good signs this month that hopefully continue: .300/.364/.522/.886. SO/BB still not good though at 27/9 this month.

Thanks for jinxing it Sweens. I hope you can live with yourself when a bunch of Twins' prospects lose their legs due to amputations in the next few weeks.

One of the other things I'm excited about in the minors. I really think those two guys could transform the back end of the pen by the end of next season even. They should rise really quickly. Imagine a pen by the end of 2015 of:

Perkins
Jones
Burdi
Fien
Tonkin
May
One of Darnell/Melotakis/Thielbar (2nd lefty)

That could be a nasty-boys style pen very very soon. And there are plenty of good backup options if any of those guys don't pan out.

And FLowerman has been playing some 3rd and 2nd, so now he's really a Futility infielder.

Lots of AAA xbh for Flowerman. That's what he is. A AAA guy.

But he'll be back.

And they'll trade a player or players that are better to keep him.

Which is really ridiculous given our new SS depth there in the organization. For the first time in a LONG time we appear to be okay at SS for a good while.

Gordon is raking right now. Great to see. Have absolutely no doubt he'll be an impact player for us in a few years.

Allof which is amazing. At the start of the year, SS was a position of weakness, and there wasn't thought to me much depth at 2nd.

Escobar's breakthrough year and adding Nunez, and the jumps made by Polanco and Santana changed that. Late surge by Michael adds on.

No doubt. I never would have guessed it. I've always been a Polanco guy but thought he was a bit farther away than he now appears to be. And never thought Santana/Escobar would ever be anything. Michael appeared to have too many injuries to make it. Happy as hell to have all of that change. Plus the best of them all in Gordon being drafted.

Nunez is a nice hitter, who is semi-proven at major league level. But, he's too shaky defensively at SS and 3B to be a starter.
Michael has only played 2B this year, does not look like he has the quickness/range to be a SS.
I've seen Polanco probably 7 or 8 games now, don't yet have an opinion. He's good enough defensively but that's all I've seen so far.
Hitting? just OK, nothing I can really comment on. If he's back in AA next year, maybe I'll like him better.
(As I've said before, Santana looks like a good-enough hitter, lots of foot speed, at least better-than-average defensivley although he made some careless plays here in 2013.)

This is truly surprising, Skilz, as I've never known you to have this kind of strong conviction on a young player still in, say, rookie ball.

I know you're shocked man.

I just think the bloodlines are too good and he's definitely the best of the 3 in that family (as all 3 admit). We've gotten the consensus best position player prospect in the draft 2 of the last 3 years. Now we need to get some freaking pitching.

Good one Pete, but I'm with skilz on this kid.
And for the same reason he brought up ... the rest of the family readily admits he is the best player in the family.
And in THAT family, that's pretty damn high praise.

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out Baxendale. Last year he was so sharpe at FM and then had some trouble when moving up to AA. That's understandable, but I didn't expect him to stumble as much there this year to get demoted and still struggle.

Down goes Meyer.

Injured/dead arm/ to be determined.

Announcers also saying Meyer only hit 90 mph once, everything else in the 80s
