Pinto at AAA at this point is an absolute joke. .917 OPS.

No doubt in my mind he'd be outhitting Suzuki right now at the ML level.

Notice how once Suzuki has regressed over the last month offensively. The Twins signed him at precisely the moment when his value was the highest. He will regress back to his career norms and then the Twins will wonder why.

All the while Pinto will be frozen out. You can make book on it

Decent start for Gordon. He's now at .296/.333/.366/.700 Would like to see more power and OBP skills, but he is just 18...

Hitting for a catcher is gravy.

What really matters is how well he frames pitches. (Even if Suzuki is statistically no better than Pinto at that).

Anyone notice that while the Twins were getting all those hits and runs on Friday night That Suzuki went 0-6? Even the position player that came into pitch struck him out. Sure glad we gave the Samurai an extention.

I think he's going to rise pretty quickly. Obviously not completely comparable, but his dad was in the majors at 20 and his brother was at 23, and he's the best of the 3. LOT of time left for things to happen, but hoping he develops and is ready to be our starting SS by around 2018-19 or so. He'd be 22-23. Fairly rare for a SS, but he's got the talent to do that.

Not getting the C+ on Santana Vargas, both should be A's, IMO

Neither was expected to contribute. I don't give a hang about Vargas' Defense right now. It's a work in progress. Guy can hit.

Santana should be an A+, simply for having to go to the bigs and be switched to mostly CF.

I'd give Gonsalves a B or A-, he's jumped into A ball, where I felt he should have been at the start of the year.

Hu should move into the top 20. Eades is fading to oblivion.

I'd grade Polanco and Berrios higher, given they're young guys in an older league.I'd go lower on Stewart and Rosario.

Ed, I think those are his preseason grades on each. He was just looking back and doing a review on each. But the notes allude to where he'll put them next year (in the cases of Vargas/Santana they won't be eligible anymore).

Is the grade what was assigned in October 2013 or what is assigned now. If it is the grade of 2013, then they make some sense....but grades of C+ for Santana and Vargas are not valid based on their play at the big league level, especially the grade for Santana who has logged significant PT at the big league level with no sign of letting up in terms of hitting.

And BTW, I know I've mentioned it before, but anyone who's interested in prospects across the game: John Sickels' site minorleagueball.com is fantastic. And free. Does a really good job of shedding light on what Baseball America is looking at/what they're hearing from scouts etc. And he's a Twins fan to boot. Has been doing a running "mock draft" alongside the Twins' each year for something like 10-15 years now. Fascinating to look back at each year.

And what do some of these top prospects have in common, besides talent?

The majority of them have played for Dougie baseball.

Having Paul Molitor as a coach and Dougie Baseball managing Fort Meyers yet our former MOY will still wear the uni in 2015.
