2. We need to seriously look at the OLine coach. This isn't a 1 year problem and some of it is down to injuries but not all.

3. If I were a Wilf I'd be asking KAM/KOC some big questions., Karl is right. JJM was clearly not ready so why were they bamboozled in to spending 300+ million on this roster? KOC has said in the past that he's the QB killer of who they try and bring in. So what was/is it? Was he wrong or was he overruled? Something doesn't add up. The team brought in Howell as a backup and canned him right before the season so they knew something was up with the situation.

Personally, I find it hard to believe they were caught off guard at the last second on the whole situation. They couldn't have predicted all his injuries but even when healthy he showed major growing pains.

You see the difference with Detroit. Their OLine isn't the same w/o Ragnow. It is also one of the big reasons Chicago has improved---they spent resources on the Oline.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/29/2025 11:00:54 AM)

they spent resources on the Oline.

So did we but until KAM stops trying to be cute by hoping to resurrect injury guys, it's wasted money. This isn't just the OLine btw. You could argue that CB is as big a need as a functioning OLine/QB/Backup QB ect...

I think Darrisaw, Jackson, and Fries (one year removed from broken leg) are great. O'Neal seems injured a ton....Kelly has to retire.

I don’t know what KOC’s view was about the QB plan this year, or how he feels about it going forward. But to me it’s still ultimately on Kwesi to make it work. Obviously he should value KOCs input on the matter but the buck stops at the top.

OLine coach needs to go. Ingram and Bradbury are having success with other teams.

Flores has been great but he got a gift with CB Wright(Bears) and he didn't give him a chance.

OK. one more meaningless game to go. Our draft position is being adversely effected by prode.

But here are a few things the Vikings definately need to address this offseason.

My replies.

1. Flores. He absolutely deserves another HC shot but two things benefit our chances of retaining him. First I think the lawsuit is a poison pill. Teams are terrified to interview him, because if they interview him and then don’t ultimately hire him, as would be their right, they fear becoming fodder for more litigation. Also, the Vikings record plays a role. When teams snipe a coordinator to be a HC, the sexy pick is from a Super Bowl contender, which the Vikings were not. Even though the defense is certainly playoff caliber.

2. I’m thoroughly convinced teams should go oline with at least one of their top 3 draft picks every single year.

3. They handed the keys to JJ too soon and paid the price. I’m still a believer in McCarthy, but it takes time. They had other options to be patient with JJ and still contend this year. That’s on Kwesi. If Kwesi doesn’t hit a HR with this year’s off season, not just with QB, show him the door. And it wouldn’t break my heart if they showed him the door a week from today.

Re Flores. There are stories out there that Jerry Jones wants to steal him from us to be DC.

Of course if BFlo is smart he avoids that toxic shithole like the plague...but you never know.

Fangio is tops in salary at 4.5M

I would think we could go 6-8M and keep him. If he doesn't get a HC job.

Key here is GROWING pains. He did show improvement later in the season.

That's why I say keep him but bring in someone to actually compete with him.

I think it is easier than this.....Make him Asst GM/Def Cordinator. He is already doing that any way.

I think Wright was hurt when we were looking at him.

100%. I'm not giving up on him yet. I just can't believe the Wilf's signed off on all spending. You gotta assume they were assured he was g2g.

The problem is who are you going to bring in who’s talented enough to be legit starter in the league but is happy to come to an organization who still really wants the job to go to someone else?

That’s pretty tricky.

At this point, my too soon to guess would be Trey Lance.

He fits the mold of high 1st round reclamation projects.

David Levine -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/29/2025 4:35:36 PM)

Or Anthony Richardson, who KOC has had a man crush on since his draft year.

Fries...not so much...

Total Pressures allowed in 2025 (snaps)

Will Fries - 36 (922)
Donovan Jackson - 26 (728)

Ed Ingram - 24 (875)
Dalton Risner - 15 (699)

Only had to fork over the 24th overall pick and 17.5M AAV for this kind of IOL upgrade.

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/29/2025 5:01:24 PM)

I would guess Daniel Jones brought back.

Don't kill me but what about Winston? Could KOC do him what he did to Darnold? Let him hunt downfield but get (mostly) rid of the ridiculous INT's.

If he has absolutely no setbacks, he could be ready by the start of the season. But I'd still be expecting him to be limited (especially his mobility) for all of next year.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/29/2025 5:49:20 PM)

I want McCarthy starting, and a backup to be someone that has a track record of playing well in December.

So a guy who used to be great, but is (at least partially) washed now? Russell Wilson? Rodgers?

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/29/2025 6:19:26 PM)

My top 3:
Mac Jones
Daniel Jones
Jameis

That is said every year. Fact is, he never hits home runs. Spielman, as bad as he struck out, hit the (draft) home runs that are still on this team at least in terms of contracts.

A plethora, dare I say popori, of QBs.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/30/2025 12:34:52 AM)

More like a pooppourri, Wilson and Rogers are past their prime.

I would have accepted Brees, Rodgers, Wilson or Brady 5 years ago. 10 years ago, I would have tried a QB that some thought was past his prime, Manning or Flacco, or would have tried to talk Kurt Warner out of retirement at that time.

Burrow would be acceptable now, but like Stafford or Mayfield, he probably isn't going anywhere.

Mac Jones might be the best choice, could take a shot on Malik Willis, but it's probably better to avoid the Packer stain.

He is not Mr. December, but he did ok last night, which gives me the feeling it will be Kirk Cousins that the Vikings sign for next year, as long as there can be an appearance that he is giving the Vikings some sort of discount.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/30/2025 10:32:38 AM)

Wilson, Cousins and Rodgers. The trifecta of "inspiring". [:o]

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/30/2025 11:01:09 AM)

I am not excited about Kirk, he fits right into the POOPpourri, the pessimist in me feels like he is the most likely QB they will choose.
