I don't take the depth chart too seriously at this stage of the preseason.

By the way, they are speaking very critically of Drew Samia on Skor North right now. They say he has been very disappointing and might even be cut. Wow.

That would really suck if he busts. He was very highly regarded coming out of college and we made a minor move up in the draft to get him. Now if he gets cut because everybody else was just too good I could live with that.

He will make the team. Samia will look better in pads during actual game situations. He's a mover and likes to play through the whistle. You can't judge that stuff during practices.

Lower body strength needed to improve and he is going against good to great DLineman every play so I can see where he might struggle.

Still, this would be a big whiff if he is a bust.

I didn't realize he's continually running against the 1's... and of course Hercules.

Just saying our DLine is pretty deep.

Bisi Johnson continues to be the one young WR who flashes. In the team drill, he hauled in a deep Sean Mannion fade up the seam against Duke Thomas. He's been making more plays recently and is heavily featured on special teams units. #Vikings

I'm wondering if some of the other wide receivers are held back by Browning and Sloter.

Not as good last year. My favorite:

My mother-in-law joined us for a Packers game a few years back. Before halftime ended, an obese, shirtless man sitting behind us vomited on her and then fell directly on top of her. The guy didn’t get kicked out.

Samia has pretty much been on the third team through TC. So that'd be against fodder esp with Jaleel an Holmes been on the first team being Joseph and Stephens on the sidelines for the most part.

Not a good sign.

I guess we will get an idea Friday if Skor North is right.

Yep, and he may be in the game pretty early.

Honestly the Samia pick moved the needle up for me quite a bit at the time.

Taking Bradbury with our 1st was a no brainer, but passing on OLine in the 2nd & 3rd was mind numbing to given the shape of our OLINE.
Excited with Smith, but the Mattison pick was a head scratcher to me (Until I did some research)

Yes it would be a big swing & miss (Albeit a 4th round pick) due to our huge need to build an OLINE from being a tire fire.

But it’s infinitely too early to say either way, and as much as I love the reports on Smith and Mattison we simply have almost zero idea to this point.

It is good to know Rudolph got faster over the summer of 2019.

Whatever, perhaps this is what happens when you draft a pure athletic TE from the NFL factory that is Alabama to put next to Kyle.

I’m happy that I’m hearing how stocked we are at TE, and would like to see a lot of two TE sets as basically Smith will act as a 3rd WR anyway, but have us way less predictable.

Dalvin may finally have some room to run...

My favorite Viking kickers were FRED and FUAD.

Although in looking over their career stats, they weren't the greatest.

I am so ready to enjoy the hell out of this year. In whatever shape that takes. I'm probably going to miss a game or two and that in itself could be a whole new dynamic. I'm just going to take it all in. With all that I am I believe this could be it.

My favorite Viking kicker was that dude in the bar parking lot "up nort" …. the night The Blair Walsh Project stabbed us all in the heart.
Dude nailed it, pack boots, buzz, packed snow placement, and all.
Now THAT'S a kicker.

Love the Fred and Fuad revelation tho … I find myself doing that too.
Idolized some guys, thought they were beasts, but now you look back on their numbers and something doesn't quite add up.

So if I understand what your saying, basically a bunch of drunks renacted the scene in the parking lot after the game and made the kick?

If so I'd like to see the footage. sounds like something me and my buddies would have done back in the day.

Awesome

Kickers back in Fred's time were less accurate than kickers of today. Compare him to kickers of his time and I bet he was very accurate.

Payton and Double Deuce were very athletic dudes, but didn’t become full time players. Palmer was a blast to watch at Alabama.

You deserve a Vikings Super Bowl championship, Todd.

By the way, did you all see this?

See the difference in helmet color? I like it. The color of Super Bowl champions.

I don't like it. It's getting close to the color "violet".

It's the same color as the uniforms. Do the jerseys look violet to you?

Maybe so. Here are more pictures. Maybe we will see them tonight.

I think the current jerseys can be described as a soft purple, one shade removed from violet.
