See the difference in helmet color? I like it. The color of Super Bowl champions.

https://twitter.com/Vikeologist/status/1159552837145300995?s=09

I don't like it. It's getting close to the color "violet".

I'm with you. They should make both the jersey and the helmet darker.

On the plus side, at least they match after several years.....why was that so hard?

Now maybe they can work on the douchey numbers.

Yes, a 3 run first to give Smeltzer a cushion early would be very nice!

If the Vikings can't see that Sloter is a better QB(and better fit for this offense) than Mannion, something is wrong.

Browning is already better than Mannion.

I finished catching up on game from recording this morning. It's really nice to skip commercials.

Drew Brees didn't play, but the Saints have a dynamic offense. This game was sure weird for a first preseason exhibition because it had a number of exciting plays. I like the look of Cousins under center and rolling out while passing. The defense looked like they need practice in tackling. Heck. It's the first preseason game and they don't do live tackling in practice, but it showed.

I didn't notice any significant injuries. It looked a little like they were trying not to get hurt.

I'm interested to read about Profootball Focus ratings and the likes. Both sides of the line looked good. I

I didn't notice the wide receiver Johnson in the game. Bisi looked like a player. I liked the looks of Blasingame, too. Mattison did look quick through the line. He's not fast, but he's quick, as advertised. He looked great on the TD pass. Rudolph looks like a much better player than Irv Smith, Jr. at this point. I'm willing to give him some more time. Yesterday was his 21st birthday. It looks like he has a lot of learning to do.

Hercules almost was unblockable tonight with that elite quick twitch, but how much does it matter against whom he was playing? Can he do that against interior starters for regular-season teams. Still, Hercules is fast as bleep, and it's fun calling his games. (Paul Allen on Twitter)

Updated Kyle Sloter preseason stats (all-time): 75-of-104, 72%, 823 yds, 8 TDs, 0 INTs (Same Ekstrom on Twitter)

I agree he looked better than Manion because of his mobility. He was going against the threes and fours, though.

Abdullah played really well before that horrible fumble. He did it while attempting to switch hands as he was making a cut. Really, fumbles are what has defined his career, but man, the talent, speed and quickness are there.

Hopefully there is some way for the team to really improve his handling of the ball. With Mattison looking good and Cook healthy, this running game can be absolutely dynamite.

Henderson looked good too.

If the team needs an explosive play Abdullah seems to have more potential. I would definitely give him plays in our new offense.

I was thinking Abdullah was a lock and then Boone showed his explosiveness.

I agree he looked better than Manion because of his mobility. He was going against the threes and fours, though.

He was playing with the 3s and 4s also.

Mannion's lack of arm strength was very alarming. Makes Ponder look like Marino.

Going into last night, one of the players I was interested to see was Hercules. Rewatching his sack let me know there must be some truth to the reports that he had a huge off season. Although he did get into his blocker quickly, the most impressive aspect was that he bull rushed the lineman on skates right back to Teddy. The knock on him is he is undersized, but he does have great power to go with his speed.

He could be an interesting chess piece on passing downs.

Not just arm strength.... Sloter has far more presence and touch than Mannion...

Boone and Conk had some nice plays...

Kirk seemed to handle Bradbury's sweaty balls just fine...

IMO with fresh legs he could make plays late in games pass or run. The OL guys are tired, and a touch slow.

Let's just hope he doesn't test positive for PEDs

Mannion is a joke. Both of the other qb's are better and with more potential...

I don't know if this has been posted on this forum already, but it's really an in depth damning of how Cousins was really set up to fail by the Vikings. Puts a real perspective on how there was a lot of dysfunction and ineptness with the organization that led to the team's demise last season.

I like what I saw. I think we are 3 deep at RB with Mattison and Abdullah. Cousins, the WR's and TE's looked good. We are going to be so good on offense this year. Top 5 O and top 5 D will get you there and I think we can be both.

Saints announcers were idiots.
