Zimmer must have a Napoleon Complex and I'd guess the players see through his insecure, false machismo bs and red-faced, strident meltdowns. This team seems to have overwhelming talent, but I can see Zimmer losing the team if he reacts badly (again!) to a player or position-group slump.

This is just another Childressesque power trip reeking of insecurity as Zimmer apparently can't handle someone with more moxie than a Caspar Milquetoast-type eunuch as a qb. Great, let's keep building around fearful, tight-sphinctered, uncreative, choker types of qbs rather than someone with balls who the team clearly rallies around and serves as a catalyst to raise the play of all. Football is the ultimate team game and a coach/qb combo that both play scared rarely works!

My chiropractor said "who?" when I told him about Udoh. All he could talk about was Boone needed to make the team. He also never heard of Blasingame. (at this moment I haven't heard if he made the team or not) He is knowledgeable about the team, but I guess not everyone lives and breathes with Vikings moves at the back end of the roster like we do.

Just not that bothered by Sloter ... atleast not enough to dampen my enthusiasm for the team moving forward.

I will reserve judgement and see what kind of regular season career he has.

Loved his preseason play ... but it was 3rd string preseason play.

I don’t buy the Zimmer favoritism thing (not that he’s above that) ... Stefanski Kubiak spent a lot more time with Sloter than Mannion ... it was their decision, if they went with Mannion we’ll just have see how it turns out.

I suspect neither guy is going to end up a legitimate starter.

#Vikings cut tackle Storm Norton. per Tomasson on Twitter

I'm told #Vikings CB Kris Boyd makes the 53-man roster.

Hmmm. I wonder what the coaches know that we don't know about Kyle. It can't be his production in games.

I'm expecting Duke Thomas & Nate Meadors to be cut. Waiting for final clarification. per Vikings Spin

I feel like we either get on a roll early or we're done for. It doesn't feel like a tweener year.

4 te's? Okay, I guess.

Doesn't bode well for Blasingame

I think he's in. If he's cut, he will be placed on the ps. We can't be that blind, right?

The thoughts around here are that he will get scooped up by someone else.

Sloter goes to: GB, NE, NO, Pitt, Dallas, Colts or KC (Andy would likely salivate at the opportunity to develop him)? The first five teams would make me sick. It's going to be so galling, somehow, someway, someday...such a Vikings move.

Reverse Herschel Walker for us. Can't even flip him for a pick after "developing" him, either. What an incredible waste.

Mostly agree except perhaps they felt they could only carry two QBs because some other position needed an extra player (TE, lol). In which case, Zimmer weighs in because he doesn't want a zero snap guy suddenly starting. Because a bad season could be the end of his reign. Part of this is Mannion isn't the guy. Guess he's very inexpensive.

To your points, we couldn't get a 7th rounder from any other team. Surely all teams have scouts who watch and rate players in case they get cut, especially QBs.

it is strange that some team with a marginal starting qb wouldn't step up and spend a mid-round pick for the guy...or any pick?....

Not after Zim trashed the guy in the media

Me too! That's the one exciting player left that I really want to make it. Ham is just a guy.

I hope that Zim lets Kubiak and Stefaniak handle the offense, because his meddling around on that side of the ball might cost us a win or two.

It's been over an hour since the deadline. I don't know why we're still waiting. Oh well. Regardless, there could be more activity between now and next Sunday anyway. Still, you know, I'm curious where they stand.

This is now two NFL teams who have let the Almighty Kyle SLoter just walk away after he put together a great preseason(s).

Count me in the non-plussed crowd over this move.
There's obviously something about the kid that we don't know about.

I highly, highly doubt he becomes Brett Favre 2.0

It takes us forever to list the final roster. I remember last year checking at 8:00 to see who made the cut. The department of defense is more transparent than our guys!
