I think we have the 53 man list here.

#Vikings keep just four receivers in Thielen, Diggs, Johnson and Beebe. Dillon Mitchell cut.

Four?

All those damn TEs.

I am more concerned about players who will affect sundays not clipboard holding

I'm not as bothered by the Sloter decision as others, but if you don't understand that backup QB is a critical position, you really have no business commenting on anything with regard to the roster. I know you're a big front-office guy who rarely questions them, but backups are part of roster-building and team development, and this regime has done a fairly poor job of doing that (see OL, LB, backup QB). They've done well finding front-line guys, but the failure to secure and develop OL in particular has cratered whole seasons repeatedly.

That's right. Injuries, age, and salaries mean backups are important. And it's pretty ironic on his part considering he is always trumpeting the resources spent on the "rebuilt" OL even prior to this offseason, no matter if they are just 6th round Isadora types. One would have got the impression he considers backups important.

Pittsburgh was good all those years because a player would go down and another plug-and-play type would be off and running.

Mike Tice would be proud. He would literally do backflips if we called a couple of those guys "H backs".

Have we heard if Watts made the team? After watching some of the preseason games, I thought Watts, Udoh, Samia and Boone needed to make the team. Not sold on Beebe as the #3 at all. I suspect the team will sign a vet who’s been cut from another team as the 5th WR. Would have liked to keep Sloter, but not gonna lose any sleep over his getting cut.

Strike that. Just saw the link to the 53 man roster.

4 TEs.
4 WRs.

Looks like we are going against the grain and will be all about running the ball, screw decades of rule changes favoring the pass

The new 64 Mustang will be unveiled at halftime of week 8.

We will see what happens with Blasingame. Not all teams carry even one FB. Nobody carries two. Maybe he will make it to the practice squad.

Anyway, I knew there would be painful cuts.

I was thinking he could be just as effective a running back as any of the guys on the team while really being able to disguise intentions since he seems to be able to do it all.

Probably too innovative a guy for our crew to throw on the field.

Don't understand Brothers over Downs or Cliett, but I never saw anything out of Smith that impressed me.

Don't understand Brandon Dillon over Blasingame.

Liked Smith at safety, but not over Epps or Kearse.

Would have liked to continue developing Sloter, but I get the rationale for Mannion over him if he continually showed a lack of command of how to run the offense.

Totally don't get Beebe, especially over Zylstra who's better at WR and a good special teamer.

5th for the K/P is a fail if we can't develop him on our practice squad.

I was fantasizing this morning a two tight end and two fullback formation. I'm not predicting that.

I do believe Dillon made the team because they wanted one tight end who could be like a horse to block for us.

I’ll predict they sign a 5th WR and cut Mata’afa to make room.

#Vikings will keep an eye on the waiver wire for another wide receiver Keep in mind also that they haven't ruled out bringing back Jeff Badet. Key for Badet is to stay healthy. He hurt his finger in warmups Thursday but wasn't waived with injury designation So that's worth noting
