It turned into a cardiac game for fans. Up by two goals and then blink a couple of times and it's tied. Cripes - we need a few more of those decisive three-goal-lead games for the final minutes. We are definitely not a team that does well in overtimes.

I'm more shocked we out-scored the Oil
They're built that way
We aren't
But we got it done. Gotta do what you gotta do some nights.

Minnesota was 6-11-1 and near the bottom of the Western Conference on Nov. 12. But the Wild have rallied despite being without goaltender Devan Dubnyk and with captain Mikko Koivu missing his third straight game with a lower-body injury.
The Wild started the day with 20 points since Nov. 14, tied for the most in the NHL during that span.

Wouldn't that be The Wild have been winning BECAUSE they are without goaltender Devan Dubnyk and with captain Mikko Koivu?

Some guys are getting confidence. Zucker has 12 goals? Donato heating up now.

Zucker does that every year, right after most of us give up on him.
Donato has come around, playing a 200 foot game now. Dude can shoot, and most of all... DOES shoot.
Btw … life without Mikko looks ok, people.

We have Ek to take over Mikko's spot as the #1 checking centerman. It is fun to see him frustrate the hell out some of the top players in the league.

Hey don’t forget the rigged game 1000 for Koivu

Even the minimal hockey fan knows that a set up

But yeah I’ve read you guys lamenting about several players a while

And those two are the main culprits

So management is finding out that they can be ok w/o old boat anchors??

I don't think Parise has been a problem....Mikko, Dumba, Dubes unfortunate but are looking more and more like the issues. Our team has young talent that needs to get more time and put on these top lines.

Fiala and Donato need to play together. Ek, Kunin, and Greenway need to play together. Zucc, Staal, and Zucker are playing well together. Mikko and Parise as captains should see this....More time and PP to the young guys

Seems like we have been waiting for 10 years for Dumba.....
Can it just end now please.
Another shot right into a guys shin pads that leads to yet another great chance given up by Dumba. Any rookie knows better than to shoot right into a guys pads.....

Parise is an issue in terms of being overpaid, declining production and an inability to stay healthy. I will stipulate that he has never cheated the fans or his teammates on a single in his life.

The problem is that we did not get the New Jersey Devil version of Parise. In seven years with the Devils he had seasons of 31, 32, 45, 38 and 31 goals. In 8 seasons with the Wild, he has cracked 30 goals exactly once. In 7 of his 8 seasons with the Devils, he played 81 or 82 games. With the Wild, he has never played more than 74 games and has a couple of seasons in the 40's and a couple more in the 60's.

I remember that play. He was standing just inside the blue line with his stick cocked and ready for a one timer even though it would be two more passes before the puck even get to him. He unloaded into the pads of a player who was predictably right in front of him when he shot. Dumbo had such a single minded focus that he didn't even notice the guy standing right in front of him.

Worst lately … was the botched 4-0n-3 in OT vs the Ducks that became a 4-on-2 due to a broken stick
I know we all like to rip Suter, but he was out there BEGGING Dumba to find the open area so he could shoot
And Dumba just kept creeping closer and closer to Suter, and to the defenders (even tho there were so few)
You could feel and see Suter IMPLORING him with hand signals and head bobs and eye movements and nothing worked.
The dude just kept standing in unusable territory no matter how much he pleaded with him.
Killed almost a minute simply with his lack of hockey feel.

I sure wish BB would quit wasting our PP time by starting out with Suter and Dumba at D. Have we even gotten any shots off on the PP since Spurgeon got hurt? If so, they are few and far between....

This is definitely a different team than the one that began the season. Don't know which vet said that it takes time for the young players to learn the system. I think their success is that the vets are learning from the young players.

I figured the Hawks would figure out a way to beat us and they did.
Wasn't that upset, it was pretty clear we were as good or better, just didn't get the bounces.
My only problem was letting Kane, for the millionth time, punk us.
Please learn how to stop him from doing that. Let someone else beat us please.
Bending over like that and just going "yeah, he kills us" is so Minnesotan. Do something about it.

Congrats Staal on 1,000 pts. A real NHLer. Nice to have a couple of those guys.
Not happy to hear the roster will look completely different soon.
Koivu/Spurg/Duby all returning this week.
Not real happy about 2/3rds of that.

I agree, you can't be too upset. The Wild were definitely the better team, so going forward I'm not going to get too cranked about a game we should have won but didn't. Especially since they've been playing so well for quite a while now.

I had completely written them off as the worst team in the NHL. Now I see they have a winning record. I may need to pay attention.

Damn
Helluva game in Vegas
We played well with half a roster
Took everything that bunch of pricks had in em to beat us.
Vegas has quickly climbed the "jackass" chart in the NHL.
Disrespectful pricks.
Bunch of big babies who wait for refs to get in between the action, then poke and punch like little girls.
Of course, after they've broken a stick or two over your back with crosschecks.
Gallant was a nasty F when he played, and he's built them in his likeness.
And no, its not good, tough, hockey. Last night was a night where you long for the Derek Boogard days.
NONE of that crap woulda happened had he been sitting there.
For a worthless dump like Englund to think his job is to harass a legit NHLer like Staal, you have to be a disrespectful prick.
One of our bigger guys needed to tune him up, or injure him. Yeah, I said it.
Whatever. Had to get that off my chest.
We are actually playing really well, imo. Get this roadie done and get home. And start piling up points again.
Every young guy that played last night was pretty good. Dumba was not.
