Mild surprise

Thought it would be Davion Davis or possibly Mitchell

And still very curious why they cut Doctson when they did...

As much talent as we have on the team the one area we seem a little thin is WR. I would have liked to see what Doctson could do. Oh well hopefully we can pull this sucker out tonight and get Theilen back next week.

Flashback...

Almost a year ago to the day, in the same circumstance on Monday Night Football, the Vikings fell to the Seahawks 21-7 in Seattle in a very winnable game.

Cousins' stat line wasn't terrible that day, going 20-of-33 for 208 yards, one touchdown and 89.0 passer rating. However, the most damning play was when Cousins had his back turned to the line of scrimmage and opted to throw a pass to Latavius Murray. Despite the defense shutting down Russell Wilson all game long, Cousins could not lead the team to more than 7 points.

The offense's performance cost then-offensive coordinator John DeFilippo his job and played a big part in the Vikings missing the playoffs.

Since then, Kevin Stefanski has taken over the play-calling reigns and over the last two months Cousins is playing some of the best football of his career.

If he can go into Seattle and lead the Vikings to a win in one of the toughest places to play, Minnesota sports fans will have a new level of respect for the quarterback.

So your'e telling me there is a chance...

Seattle's wins: Bengals, Steelers, Cardinals, Rams, Browns, Falcons, Bucs, 49ers, Eagles. That's nine wins but arguably only one against a really quality team (49ers). They beat the Rams by one point when the Rams were stinking up the league, and their two-point win over the Steelers was in Week 2 when Ben Roethlisberger got injured. In addition, the Seahawks are 3-2 in five home games, and two of the three victories were by a single point and the other required overtime. They could easily be 0-5 at home.

I thought Doctson re-injured his hammy?

I thought Doctson re-injured his hammy?

I think there would have been talk of an injury settlement if he got hurt in the one game he was active.

What bites in this whole process of roster moves was losing Epps and Blazingame. Even if they weren't related to the Doctson activation. seems a bit short sighted.

Weather Info
This is the last regular season game the Vikings have that, in theory, could be affected by weather in any meaningful way. According to our friends from WeatherNation, however, it doesn’t appear that’s going to happen. The rain should stop in the early hours of Monday morning, and by the time kickoff rolls around, temperatures will be in the lower 40s with no real winds to speak of.

It could easily rain when we play the Chargers.....hoping it won't since I'll be at the game and my wife will not be stoked to experience "weather."

Charch thinks there is a positive narrative for Cousins in this game....2 years ago an injury depleted Redskins beat Seattle.

Russell Timmons

Our defense was exposed going all the way back to the second half of that New Orleans playoff game. It took a "miracle", literally a miracle to pull that one off. The next week, our defense was demolished by Philadelphia. We've never recovered. I'm not sure Zimm is capable of reframing his philosophy or approach.

On this board long ago there were posters who spent pages ranting about ONE TRICK PONIES

well... I totally agree Zimmer was exposed, a plan was shown on how to beat his schemes and he has never recovered.

He is a ONE TRICK PONY... he cannot adapt or be inventive whith the pieces he has, he is absolutely adverse to change, so stuck in past that he will go down in flames with his ways, even if he has players to put in better positions to make plays, we just keep trotting out the same schemes every O Coodinator knows we will utalize...

There comes a time when fresh minds must implement fresh schemes that work in todays framework of the NFL and its flow as dictated by the officials and rules...

Zimmer cant, he hates where the NFL has gone in his tenure and he cannot adapt, he wont... sorry... its just not happening...

We were out-coached after a bye.

We were out-coached after a bye.

Been another common theme in the Zimmer era...

Guy got so many passes because of his D side of ball after we lacked for so long...

Accountability has to taken... Last year at this point we fired our O coodinator because an entire unit looked like a hot mess with so much tallent someone had to take fall on coaching...

Who falls this year NOW?

At this stage the only guy Zim can outcoach is Jason Garrett

In Zimmers defense I don't think it takes a whole hell of a lot to "outcoach" him.

Clearly Rhodes is unplayable
If Zim starts him next week he should be canned.

Ever since we added Zimmers Son Adam and his buddies our Linebackers and secondary have been hot garbage it sends waves through the entire D and front four...

Seems we are at a point we work so hard on scheming to hide liabilities we have no strong points on D any more!

My bad, too reactionary after loss and drew from incorrect memory... I stand corrected and should likely stop SKY IS FALLING venting for now...

Carry on

This team has the talent but continues to underachieve. We have a decent record and are heading for the playoffs but we have yet to beat a good team.

According to PFF Rhodes is up to allowing completions on over 85% of targets. That's almost impossible! Or maybe the better word would be improbable. Waynes is also awful allowing 70%. Maybe the corners can't hear what the cornerback whisperer is saying or more likely Zimmer isn't this great cb guru everyone thinks he is.

Upon further review Cousins is not innocent last night

That last drive had some awful throws

Since all evaluations can’t be made in a vacuum. You paid 75 mil for the guy to win big games

Just because he’s not Rhodes level hot garbage bad doesn’t mean it was a good decision to sign him

Cousins, Barr and Rhodes. A lot of tied up questionable money
