BUT... what if Kirk Cousins comes out next Sunday with that scared look in his eye, that terrible grimmace looking grin on his face... Then shows a total inability to move the ball or get in any rhythm other than zero yard dump offs to Ham? That look we last saw so recently in the Packers game at home where totally soiled his Sleep Number bed right in front of all...

You can (swear to God) see how it's going to go from the first time he trots on the field, imo.
That helmet gets wayyyyyyyyyyy low on the brow, and the eyes never come up from his shoes.
He must have some sweet kicks, because he LOVES lookin at the shoes on those nights.
If that is how he looks out of the gate, we ….. are toast.

On to the Big Easy

If Zim puts Rhodes one on one against Michael Thomas it could be a long afternoon

Rhodes seems to handle the Michael Thomas types better than the speed guys. Thomas needs to be doubled, we'll take our chances with Ginn, Hill and Smith.

I agree with you Rob. I was thinking the same that as much as Rhodes has been maligned this season, we need him to have one of his better games. But I am for giving him help each week, now.

Oli Udoh flashed both in pass protection and in run blocking yesterday. Here's a few snaps of his at right tackle going up against Khalil Mack:

In 2019 the Saints scored over 30 points in 12 games... and over 40 twice...

The Vikes DBs will be seriously challenged to slow that down, and on offense Cousins and company must be sharp with a game plan that is wide open with all out effort to score 7 on every possesion, Very agressive calls on 3rd and even possibly 4th down across the 50 ... no Zimmer ball or we get blown out here!

New Orleans is an eight-point home favorite over Minnesota, as listed by multiple sports books. That’s no surprise, as the Saints were 13-3 this season, the best record of any team playing in the wild card round, and outscored their opponents by a cumulative 117 points over the course of the season

The closest line is in the other NFC wild card game, where the Eagles opened as one-point home favorites over the Seahawks, but some books have the Seahawks as one-point favorites. That game is basically a tossup according to the betting odds.

run blitz/pass blitz every play - use our younger more agile dt's/de's inside - i don't know if i'd play joseph this game...cb's - man to man...if we play zone brees will kill us...double cover thomas very play...put someone big, like rhodes/kearse, on him at the line and get physical - place that man on the inside of thomas and force him outside and then someone else can pick him up...if we're going to shadow kamara on some plays then do it with alexander - not an lb....

I know most of you will cry of our OL being garbage or terrible play calling...

BUT... what do we do going into 2020 season? Change coaching, GM, Draft, Free Agency? What do you do to change the narrative of Kirk and this team when it comes to big games under the bright lights?

You mean thinking Keenum is something other than a backup QB or bridge QB? I would literally be too embarrassed to post again if I had thought/posted that.

I'm still on the extend Cousins bandwagon (and draft a real developmental QB).

Cousins is on his 4th OC in 4 seasons. I'd really like to see this offense with some continuity, development and investment in a 3rd WR and a good offensive line.

And of course if Cousins continues to show he is the BIGGEST choker in the league in big games or any time he plays winning teams, those who covet his ways should be totally embarrased to be fans of a team held back by an albatross with a cap killing contract...

Extention? Bahhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa HA!

Cousins is an OC killer BTW, because of what he flashes in meaningless games and stats he pads in garbage time he looks the part of elite QBs yet no OC has harnessed that in real time when it matters in a game say on Monday night, or against a quality opponent, lets not even talk play offs... Maybe he just needs a system like Billy B or Andy fat boy's to take his game to the next level... Or maybe he is just really what he is, as the record shows...

Browns Want To Interview Mike McCarthy, And Kevin Stefanski Again

The Wilf Brothers should be showing interest in McCarthy. At least he has a vision for offense in today's game.

Without a HOF QB to cover his ass McCarthy aint shit.

No thanks.

I'm a sucker for punishing myself so this weekend I want to watch the Vikings get killed sitting with Rags and CPA whilst drinking nothing but warm Verners ginger ale and eating under cooked bacon sandwiches on stale bread.

Back to the Vikes getting killed. We might lose by 30 or 40. To even have a chance we'd have to gamble heavily with blitzing and have it pay off. What I expect is an imbalance of fake blitzes vs real ones until we are to far behind. With that, and in general it seems, we leave way too much space to be exploited. 2nd stringers can do it...Brees is really good at it. The Saints won't play small ball and will aim to stack td's. It could be all time ugly.

I will take a miracle of course

If some combination of how Todd describes it or too much Xavier Rhodes is what happens, I don't know how the Wilfs can stick with Zimmer. Need coaches that can figure things out, put the team's best foot forward, and for the team to not come out flat. As much as most people hate Childress, the team came to play in the 2009 championship game.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS TEAM QUIT ON CHILDRESS THE VERY NEXT YEAR. WE CAME TO PLAY THAT NFCCG BECAUSE WE HAD THE SILVER FOX AT QB HAVING ONE OF HIS BEST YEARS EVER STATISTICALLY.

They came out to play in that game despite the Kick ass offence dennys menu dumbshit being the HC not because of him.

Personally I would bench Reiff and start Udoh for the playoffs. That's me. I mean, I figure we have to do something different than what we've been doing. On defense I would start Odenigbo ahead of Everson Griffen and i would play Kearse on nickel downs.

Maybe the master of building up the team going into big games can redo his motivational stuffed animal massacre again, that worked so well the first time...

How about you just F u C KING put in a solid week of serious prep where you honestly evaluate every man on the team who can start and place them in the best situations to do their given jobs to exploit Saints weakness or shore up our own, entrenched starters be damned...

And you know... have a real game plan and expected adjustments which can be implemented in real game speed... hmmm... that would be genius no?

ONeil would need more than two weeks to make the switch back to LT.

I would LOVE to see something innovative. Like Thomas doubled with two physical guys. Rhodes to disrupt him at the line and Kearse over the top.

Goff is probably the closest to Kirk and I would rather have Kirk as Goff rode their running game heavy last year....Dak hasn't won yet either.

Its crazy to me how much these qbs are going to make. I don't think it's really smart to be paying anyone 40 million a year. Yikes!

I don't even need innovative. How about basic checking receivers at the LOS before you release. That buys the pass rushers about a second to move around. Double or roll coverage on the best receiver in the formation. Blitz Barr every second and third down. Very basic, but it works.

The Browns are chasing Stefanski again this year. WTH is it with that franchise? We would be livid here if the Vikings were chasing a guy with zero experience that, when he gets his chance, has a glorified babysitter put in place to make sure he doesn't screw it up. Only in Cleveland I guess.

Stafford is 0-3 in the Playoffs.

As far as QBs beating teams with winning records:

As of Sept 26, 2019:

CP@ChristianPina

Since 2012, Aaron Rodgers is 7-24 vs +.500 teams

Kirk Cousins: 5-24 record against winning teams in his career.

Matthew Stafford career vs winning teams: 9-54

The more ya know.

This just in. Beating good teams is hard.

Most playoff teams get there by pounding bad teams and doing so-so at best against good teams. winning barely enough to get by.
