Here's the video of Justin Jefferson getting up and making a touchdown catch over Mike Hughes, punctuated by a celebration dance with Dalvin Cook. (Will Ragatz)

Despite that nice clip RotoWorld is reporting that Jefferson has not been impressive and is firmly behind Bisi for the #2 receiver spot.
It's early, but I take this report as bad news.

Not according to all the reports Bruce has been posting links to.

I heard Cousins say on the radio this morning that he is learning a lot right now. They are so far behind the normal off-season progression. Normally they are playing preseason games already, but this year they are still installing plays and learning assignments.

Speaking of preseason games, this is from Will Ragatz on Twitter:

Mike Zimmer announced today that the #Vikings will play a full half of football at U.S. Bank Stadium next Friday, "exactly how it’s going to be in a game."
With no preseason games, this will help the rookies get acclimated to playing in their home venue.

Generally, this time of the year each rookie class is supposedly looking to rival the Steelers draft for the ages in the early 70s.

By year three, most of the draftees are long gone or being discussed as potentially moving to a new position to salvage their careers.

Dalvin Cook - good talent but oft-injured, debate about the pick raged at the time.
Pat Elflein - generally a liability, maxes out as career backup or cut on teams with a real OL.
Jaleel Johnson - in the mix for time at a depleted DT position.
Ben Gedeon - who knows, closer to being gone than a viable contributor.
Rodney Adams - insane amount of hoopla, gone.
Danny Isidora - nope, gone.
Bucky Hodges - boom or bust was a bust and is gone.
Stacy Coley - Adams lite as far as hoopla. Also gone.

2017 produced a good RB, a couple of players who could top out as journeymen in Elf and Gedeon, and a DT who could be ok but hasn't cracked the starting lineup yet in JJ.

Viable starters: 1.

We had to give up our first round pick in that draft due to the injury of Teddy.

2015 is probably the Vikings "gold standard" for recent drafts.

Go back and look at our drafts—— ughhh..

If we get two significant starters for any length of time it’s a good draft for us.

If you include ‘15- Waynes, Kendricks, Hunter, and Diggs. (The latter being special’

But look at 2016... 😳 OMG terrible.

2017 is kind of a meh for me, but would be helped if Odenigbo turns into a player.

This year if we do just ok we should pull 3-5 starters at some point out of this draft.

High hopes for the secondary we pulled.

KJ Osborn highlight here over Hughes. He high points the catch. He and Jefferson both seem to be good at that.

The Vikings have been looking at a lot of options for the backup safety positions. It's a tough year to be a rookie, but it also seems to me that the Vikings are not particularly pleased with the progress of the rookie safeties.

Steven Parker and Nate Meadors took second-team safety reps, which doesn’t bode well for rookies Josh Metellus, Brian Cole II or Myles Dorn. The team also reportedly worked out George Iloka, who was on the team in 2018.

One more practice report:

https://www.vikings.com/news/anthony-harris-training-camp-last-second-touchdown

I was watching briefly an NBA basketball game. It looked so sterile with no fans in the stands. Baseball seems to lend itself better for no fans, but it all makes me wonder what football will be like without the fans. You know, it's not the same. I mean, I am stating the obvious, but I wonder how much I will get out of football without the fans. I hope that they open it up soon for at least some fans in the stands.

I believe I'm in the minority on this, but I believe the Vikings drafted Osborn as a WR first and a PR second.

Elf and Dozier as our starting G's leaves a lot to be desired.

Spielman simply doesn't get it. I want to remain optimistic but see little chance our IOL holding up against the better dlines in the league.

We will continue to beat weak below 500 teams and lose to the above 500 teams. rinse and repeat.

I was looking at his combine scores. It seems that his greatest attributes for a receiver are his strength, jumping ability and speed- not particularly agility or quickness. He may have a little bit of Alexander Mattison in him with the jumping and strength.

Size Rating: 58/100
Speed Score: 77/100
Agility Score: 35/100
Quickness Score: 51/100
Strength Score: 73/100

https://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?f=K.J.&l=Osborn&i=30226

This is for Alexander Mattison:

Size Rating: 66/100
Speed Score: 34/100
Agility Score: 42/100
Quickness Score: 47/100
Strength Score: 76/100

Check out Ezra Cleveland's combine grade:

Size Rating: 52/100
Speed Score: 97/100
Agility Score: 95/100
Quickness Score: 87/100
Strength Score: 86/100

And looking at James Lynch, he has a similar combine comparison to Gerald McCoy, but lacks strength. (which he can get with NFL training) He is surprisingly quick. I didn't realize this about him.

Size Rating: 57/100
Speed Score: 62/100
Agility Score: 82/100
Quickness Score: 68/100
Strength Score: 40/100

When I look at Harrison Hand's combine results I'm thinking that he should switch to safety. His agility score is really poor, but his other scores are very good. He's got a good combination of size and speed.

Size Rating: 62/100
Speed Score: 61/100
Agility Score: 28/100
Quickness Score: 58/100
Strength Score: 63/100

Would you be more inspired if Cleveland moves up to LG and Oli Udoh moves up to RG? That could happen. I don't know. There's a chance.

What we do know is that Elflain is among one of the worst G's in the NFL. If Dozier wasn't able to unseat him he must not be very good either.

I would think if we had a full camp and a PS where Udoh and Clev got more chance to develop we would probably be seeing them in there. I think the coaching regime appear to be going with the two G's that currently know the system better. Perhaps after they continue to be overmatched we will see Clev and Udoh or Collins.

But yes i would be more inspired if they could unseat these two clowns.
