Source: The #Vikings have released G Pat Elflein. The veteran now goes on waivers. Just off IR, he’s healthy now and this gives him the opportunity to get some real playing time elsewhere.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter

Holy s***. Who saw this coming?

One year too late.

Agreed.

Wild finish in AZ/Buf game. Just wow what a finish. Glad i got to watch that.

I fell asleep watching it, but I recorded it and just watched it after reading your comment. The Cardinals have a reason to be excited now.

Since entering the league, Daniel Carlson ranks 28th in the NFL in Field Goal Pct (80.3%) of all kickers that have attempted at least 25 field goals.

We don't need to act like he's "the one that got away" every time he makes a field goal.

(Dustin Baker on Twitter)

He's been hit and miss over his short career so far (get it - hit and miss) that's for sure. Strange for Baker to make this comment a day after Carlson went perfect 3-3 on FGs and 4-4 on PATs. He's 4-4 on 50+ this year as well. Looks to me like the kid is going to have his best year as a pro this year. Good for him.

He was 25% with the Vikings. He certainly was a hot mess for us.

Glad we weren't the Bills in that scenario.

In the first two games of his rookie year, though.

In other words the team with the first chance to claim him off waivers did.

Still think this was a mistake. As bad as Elf is he looks like Steve Hutchinson compared to Samia.

One would think that a GM with a lick of common sense wouldn't pair a rookie K'er with a coach like Zimmer.

#Vikings coach Mike Zimmer via KFAN:
“I thought [Kirk] Cousins played outstanding tonight.”

(Sean Borman on Twitter)

The thing though is that he really is a hot mess when he has to improvise. The great quarterbacks are so much better at buying time in the pocket even if they don't run with the ball. It's almost as if he's running in mud when he has to move due to pressure and half the time he runs right into the tackler.

The thing he did well tonight was stand firm in pocket and threw the ball with some velocity instead of getting happy feet.

Like someone else said, when Hicks went out, we had our way.

Yep. Scrambled to his left a couple times when it looked wide open to his right.

I thought our oline stood their ground for the most part. Ezra and dozier had their problems with Hicks and we struggled to run the ball but I thought they pass blocked well and gave Kirk time.

We run blocked better after Hicks left the game. He's a one man wrecking crew.

JJ tied with DK at 18.1 yards/rec

What really stands out after studying wr statistics is the number of targets. ie..

DK has 45 rec on 72 targets
JJ has 42 rec on 54 targets
