I'm getting hammered on Twitter now. I wish I could do a poll question here. Let me ask everyone who cares to respond- do you like the idea of trading for Williams? I am opposed to it because the guy hasn't played a full season for about six years and he's 32, wants a big long term contract, and the I believe the salary cap will actually go down next year. Oh. Plus we would have to give up a higher draft pick.

I think I would have to have a really good idea what would happen next year under the salary cap if they play games without crowds before I would consider giving him a big contract even if it did not cost a draft pick. Same with Harris. I am not saying that I am against it, but if the thought is the cap could go down by a big number next year, than I am 100% opposed to either.

Thank you. That is the kicker for me. I was fence straddling before. I don't know what the draft pick sacrificed by the Vikings in the trade, but I do believe we can get a really good player in the second round, especially if we sweeten it up a little bit with a trade up.

The big thing is that Williams rarely needs help.....we had to help Reiff at times with a TE, etc.

It would free up Rudolph, Smith Jr. more.

Are we getting a Whitworth (SP) LA Ram LT who maintained until he was 40 or are we getting a oft injured but talented LT?

Sad news to report here: Former Golden Gopher and Minnesota Viking Milt Sunde has passed away in his home.

Very sad. My parents still have a picture of me, as a young boy, sitting on his lap at spring training camp. Bummer.

Cause of TJack's death:
Former NFL quarterback Tarvaris Jackson’s car crash was caused by him losing control of his vehicle while driving 70 mph in a zone with a 30 mph speed limit, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.
Jackson was fatally injured in the car crash last week in his hometown of Montgomery, Alabama.
The crash reportedly occurred around 8:50 p.m. on April 12. Per TMZ, Jackson lost control while going around a bend in the road at 70 mph, slammed into a sign post and crashed into a ditch. The road was reportedly not well lit.
When emergency personnel arrived at the scene a few minutes later, Jackson was reportedly unable to give a reason for the crash. He was then transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.
Jackson was reportedly not tested for alcohol or drugs at the scene, but was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Aaron Rodgers led the NFL with 52 intentional throwaways last season. His 8.2% throwaway rate also led the league, with no other quarterback reaching 7.0%.

Rodgers doesn't usually throw many INTs. He would much rather throw the ball away, or take a sack.

I didn't read up much on this draft, but usually learn a lot more from the posters on this site.

I like the bloodline with Jefferson, remember the Chargers awesome passing attack with John Jefferson. He seemed like, and his son the same way, he didn't have outstanding attributes, he just made plays, made for a potent offense.

I like the draft so far, and will REALLY like it if the Vikes can trade for Williams, AND resign Griffen.

I realize that would take some cap creativity, but they've done it before.

OMG. That's a long time. God bless you. I hope it means that now that you are here the Vikings go over the threshold to a Super Bowl championship.

People are talking about Reiff playing LT and Cleveland playing guard. I'm not so inspired about that idea, but the point is that Cleveland won''t be ready for LT.

Lots of questions going forward on the offensive line.

Sounds like a broken record. It's been my problem for at least 3 years now.
Still very excited about a few of our picks.

lol, yeah. I've lurked on a number of boards over the years including the shit-show at KFAN. I joined the one on Viking Update but that's gone too. Figured it was finally time to join this one.

Hopefully the Vikings finally go all the way. Been a fan since the early 90's and woke up at 2:30 AM to watch the 98 NFCCG because I was stationed in Okinawa. Was born in 78 so I didn't see any of the SB games, just a ton of NFCCG losses. Even had to endure listening to the neighborhood shoot of fireworks after the Eagles finally won theirs. Hoping this year is our turn!

Welcome liftoker!!

Thought this was interesting (don't know how accurate since the Balt trade included other picks):

Diggs trade
Stefon Diggs
Minnesota 7th round (239) Dane Jackson CB – Pitt
For
Justin Jefferson
Buffalo 2021 4th round
Chicago 2021 4th round
Baltimore 2021 5th round

When things slow down you may want to watch this. It's a long video. It's the history of the Vikings video.

Dalvin Cook not holding out yet.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports Vikings RB Dalvin Cook plans to participate in the team's virtual voluntary offseason program.
Cook is entering the last year of his rookie deal. The backfield remains unchanged after the draft: Cook will get all the work he can handle, Alexander Mattison will see sporadic backup usage and is nothing more than a high-end handcuff, and Mike Boone will flash in the preseason but ultimately provide little value without multiple injuries occurring. It seems likely the Vikings and Cook manage to get some sort of deal done before the season starts.

Just watched a Jefferson highlight video (long). This guy is tough. Not afraid to take a hit. Or deliver one.

Pundits here have very high opinion of JJ... I'm high on him as well but it was great to hear others mimic it.

Mattison is happy now with two Boise State buddies coming to Minnesota.
