I leave the hospital finally tomorrow, it seems. I got email confirmation this evening. Next stop is physical therapy.

Godspeed Bruce! Below is a link about guy here in Seattle that had a million dollar bill. You should look into getting reimbursed for even your deductible.

The end of an incredible chapter. Best wishes with therapy and other considerations.

That's my favorite plan. No doubt he's one of the best - but you just can't pay everyone what they're worth ... as we all know.

That damn GM job is pretty darn important, if you don't get lucky once in awhile - and the Vikings ain't about that kind of luck ... yet, anyway

I disagree, until he can stay healthy and produce season through, he is not one of the best.

One of the most talented, sure.

But I do agree with the "Take what we're offering or ..." part fer sure.

best v. most talented

Sounds like semantics to me. But I'm ok with labeling him (one of) the most talented - and I'm still sticking with "the plan"

Semantics schnemantics! I just don't think he is on the field performing like the best frequently enough.

Great news Bruce!!!

At the PT/Rehab facility, you might need to advocate for yourself to get all of the PT you are entitled to. Rehabs are often understaffed and will often do the bare minimum---and sometimes not even that. Hopefully your facility will not have these issues, but try to understand your doctor's order in detail, especially the number of daily sessions and the duration of each, as well as the therapies to be included. You are entitled to seeing those orders carried out, and you may be paying for them whether they happen or not. Weekends are often a time when things fall through the cracks. Advocate for yourself and be sure to let your family know if things slip; they can often help by reaching out to the doctor who put in the order, which is the basis for all clinical care.

Good luck and keep fighting!!!!!

Cook has to play 8 games correct for the year to count?

If that is true he can come it for the final half of the season healthy and with something to prove.

If he is awesome, franchise for next year. NFL players rarely can afford to sit out forever. Each game is a decent chunk of their career.

No way do I break the bank for him. Nothing says he is a every down back for multiple years.

He was very average the final half of the season.

Cook has to report for training camp. I don't think he can weasel out of that by reporting then not playing. If he wants to be FA in 21 he has to play in 20.

I'm tired of Cook's jive.

Fortunately, back jives don't matter.

Kubiak has turned no name rb's into stars for 20 years.

I believe Alexander Mattison would have just as good if not better numbers if he were the feature back this season.

Cook simply isn't worth a big contract.

But Spielman will give it to him.

The food quality is at a.better level here and everyone is so friendly. I took off 40 days of beard growth with a cheap blade. That was no easy task.

Jones vs Cook

In any case, Jones has 534 touches in three years and has averaged 5.5 yards per touch with 32 combined rushing and receiving touchdowns. Cook has 561 touches for 5.4 yards per touch, but only has a combined 19 TD’s. Cook has so far required almost 11 more carries than Jones to score a single rushing TD, and where Jones has made a TD catch every 21 receptions, Cook has only caught a TD once every 52 catches.

And, oh yeah, Jones has four fumbles to Cook’s seven.

Jones has played in 40 games (38 with one or more rushing attempts) to Cook’s 29:

Games with over 5.0 yards per carry: Jones 17 (44.7%), Cook 11 (37.9%).
Games with between 4.0 and 4.9 ypc: Jones 7 (18.4%), Cook 3 (10.3%).
Games with under 4.0 ypc: Jones 14 (36.8%), Cook 15 (51.7%).
So, where Jones has averaged 4.0 or more ypc in over 63.1% of those 38 games, Cook has averaged under 4.0 ypc in 51.7% of his 29 games.

The more I look at the numbers, the closer I get to "Don’t extend Cook this off-season, at all. Just see how he does in 2020 and make a decision next year. And if the 2021 rookie running back class looks anything like how the 2017 one has turned out, maybe we can wait until Day 3 to take a RB this time." Some Day 3 rookie running back classes aren’t all that deep and you have to dig through a lot of dross to find a gem, but at least through the 5th round, that 2017 class was pretty packed.

By the way, I assume Jones is benefiting from the same contract provision that Elflein is with his number of starts causing him to get a bump in salary this year, but Jones is now actually scheduled to make just over $160,000 more in 2020 than Cook is, and honestly, it looks like he deserves it.

Stolen from DN

I did well with stamina testing. I did poorly and (mixed) with mental faculty testing.

I have one more specialist to see. When I do well on a test I am happy, but I am disappointed with others.

I called my agent and he backdated my coverage Nobody has been driving my car and it will be a while before I can. .

I see zero point in extended him for any dollar amount considering he has to play this season.

Upon closer scrutiny of the facts Cook has ZERO leverage and Spielman would be a fool to knuckle under.

For Dalvin Cook, the new CBA makes a holdout counterproductive, so he’ll have to end the threat prior to training camp or lose a credited year, which would make him a restricted free agent next year, rather than an unrestricted one. Being a restricted free agent basically means he’ll be stuck with a $3 million deal unless another team gives the Vikings a 2nd round pick to acquire Cook at a higher price, which isn’t very likely.

Cook would also be subject to $50,000 fines every day of training camp he misses, meaning if he held out for all of training camp he’d owe the Vikings money for the season.

It's imperative to let people know that, when being tested on things like happiness, expectation, disappointment, patience, etc …….

cook could go to training camp and then hold out for the first 10 games though - right?...he accrues a season with only six games played - maybe he'll decide to do that and take less of a chance of injury....
