Wow! The Lakers trade Anthony Davis to the Mavericks for Luka the Bitch.

LOL! Luka the Bitch, a reminder that he destroyed the Wolves.

Now not eligible for a projected supermax 5/345 because he was traded.

No. Kyrie Irving absolutey shredded the Wolves in the playoffs and I love his game. Great player. Luka the Bitch because he conducts himself like a little bitch on the floor. Incessantly whining while getting away with all kinds of crap. Then he trash talks the opposing player who gets called for a bullshit foul on him.

I watched the news conference....Jason Kidd looked like he was so pissed. Granted Christie is a good player but there should have been 3-4 more picks included from LA. Rumor is the new owner bought the team from Mark Cuban and wants to move it to Vegas but the are in the 4th largest market.

This will get the fans pissed enough to have that happen.

No it won't. The NBA won't allow anyone to move to Las Vegas. They want to collect the massive franchise fee for putting an expansion team in Las Vegas.

They need to give LeBron time to get his ownership group together for the Vegas franchise too.

I would guess the Lakers make another trade for a Center. If they get the right one and can stay healthy.....LOOK OUT!

Uh, yes. Maybe a revisit to the box scores can help correct things. On average:

Luka: 32.4 pts, 9.6 rb, 8.2 asst, 2.2 st, 3.6 trnovr, 43% from 3.

Irving: 27 pts, 3.6 rb, 4.6 asst, 0.6 st, 2.4 trnovr, 38% from 3.

Shaq was in shape for the majority of the time he was there. Last couple years were iffy.

I was at his rookie game at Target Center. He was one of the most unbelievable athletes I've ever seen in person. He was like 285 and moved around the court like a gazelle. He was routinely beating guards down the floor, diving for loose balls, he was everywhere. Shutting down the paint, running out at shooters. It was unreal.

But Shaq never worked on expanding his game. And he never cared about staying in shape. He just kept getting heavier and heavier. And as injuries piled up, he'd never rehab in the offseason. He'd wait until the season started and then take care of things - which led to slow recovery and him being more and more out of shape:

quote:

While on SiriusXM Sports with legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady, O'Neal claimed he weighed over 400 pounds during the 2001-02 season. Via Sports Illustrated: “In our first championship I was 345 [pounds] and then had a great summer, came back 385 for the second one,” O'Neal said. “Last championship I was 415.”

Shaq was great. He could've been the best ever.

For real. 3 rings, MVP, top 10 in MVP voting every season, tons of points & rebounds just doesn't cut it.

Anyway, different position and team. His bulk and power helped him dominate everyone inside (except maybe Yao) and made him a HoF.

Guys inherently that big doing what they do... well what he did... on the court generally have trouble.

Uh no, finally. You obviously don't get the point. I did not hang the moniker Luka the Bitch on him for crushing the Wolves. I don't begrudge Doncic being arguably the best pure offensive player in the league. The name has nothing to do with performance on the court. I call him that purely because of his conduct on the court.

Jimmy Butler is leaving Miami like he hoped, just not for his preferred destination. The NBA star landed with the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday in a trade that sends Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson and a protected first-round pick to the Heat, a team source confirmed to The Athletic.

Knecht was a good pick. Roster balance is an issue but it won't be forever. And you have to give up something to get something.

Nico Harrison really traded a generational, 25-year-old star and left the receiving team with enough to go get an enormous, young center on the rise. Amazing work.

You win with top end talent. If they lose Luka or LeBron, they're not winning anything regardless of their bench.

True but with Lebron at 39-40 it almost looks like they punted a bit.

Lukka is so much better than AD though and they didn't get the other pieces they sent for Williams.....Kidd just couldn't believe it.

I'll have to admit I had never heard of this guy. After watching the highlights, Pelinka gets another A for this trade.

I really liked Knecht but you need some defense and this guy is the perfect modern day Center. Pick and roll guy, shot blocker, great with lobs. And he is 24. Injuries are an issue.

You have the big 3 (LBJ, Luka, Reaves) who are all below average defenders. Needed some defense.

Edit: I do remember him at Duke. Forgot about him.

Williams is very interesting. He's a very good scorer (but nothing really outside the paint, so not exactly "modern") and a terrific rebounder. He was a solid defender in his first 2 seasons, but he's been atrocious on that end this year. Teams score at will on the Hornets whenever he's on the floor and they're way better with him on the bench.

My guess is moving to a better team will get him interested in playing defense again. And he's going to score a ton of points at the rim with LeBron and (especially Luka throwing him the ball. Just look at what Luka did for Lively and Gafford last year.

Williams is literally one of the worst rim protectors in the entire league. He's young though, but he will really have to improve just to become average.

It really doesn't make sense why he is so bad at rim protection. He has the physical tools.
