Another incredible performance for Tyrese Haliburton.

He now has three career games with 25 points, 15 assists and 0 turnovers — all this season.

Zach Kram@zachkram
Nobody else in NBA history has more than one such game in his career, per @Stathead. And Haliburton has three this season.

Pretty remarkable. How bad would that team be if you replaced Haliburton with an average NBA PG?

Aside from Turner, I don't know who else on that squad could crack another NBA starting lineup. Maybe Brown. His versatility is valuable.

They have been fun to watch. I hope they win this tournament. Imagine Carlisle coaching the worst defense in the league, while running at the fastest pace? Times have changed. I guess Carlisle is just adapting to his talent. Good for him.

I wasn't a big fan of the in-season tournament, still not all on board, but I have to admit, it has provided some exciting December basketball.
A lot less load management, rest, illness, phantom injuries compared to normal Nov/Dec basketball.

And the players have taken it very seriously. There has been an intensity that you never see early in seasons.

So they need to have about 3 or 4 in season tournaments.

Impressive performance by the Lakers. They had a great game plan and executed it well. Aggressive defensively on Haliburton and attacked the paint on an undersized Pacer frontcourt. They pretty much neutralized Turner, and got him in foul trouble. While I like Jackson, he's undersized. Jalen Smith may have helped, especially spreading the floor. Toppin, as athletic as he is, may be the worst defender at the rim in all of the league. Lakers took it to them.
Davis was beyond impressive, both ways.

Draymond probably needs a 15-20 game suspension. So far nothing has made a dent in his ego.

And its time for the league to suspend Kerr as well. He clearly has no problem with Draymond's behavior and refuses to say a single negative thing about him. He's turning into the NBA version of Sean Payton.

So I didn't realize Ja Wick was back. I don't think it will last long.

Taylor Jenkins is a really good basketball coach. What Carlisle is doing shouldn't be overlooked either.

Wednesday, Memphis won at Miami. Even Grizzlies fans didn't recognize some of the 9 players they had available. They beat Orlando tonight.

Adams, Clarke, Morant, Smart, Bane and Rose all out, I think Aldama was also out Wednesday. You could definitely make the playoffs with the players the Grizzlies don't have.

That has to be very difficult to coach a completely different team than what you expected to have. No crying, just work. I'm impressed. Also, GG Jackson gets thrown into the fire, that could end up accelerating his learning curve. I think he's going to be really good.

Back to Carlise. I don't really even know how they win, especially without Haliburton. They let Booker shoot tonight (63 points, 37 shots) until his arm got tired, then the Pacers won. Incredible.

Oh, and Doncic dropped 73 tonight on 33 attempts. 10 Rebounds, 7 assists, and got the W.

NBA is crazy right now. Is Kobe anniversary week over yet? I'm not making light of his tragic death but this is the anniversary week of his 81 point game, and his death.

Haliburton and Draymond Green complaining about the 65 game rule.

Maybe the rule needs a little tweaking for actual major injuries. But, the fans don't want to put down 100s of dollars, sometimes 1000s(if you have to travel, get hotel) to watch the scrubs play a game because some 20 or 30 year olds can't play a back to back because they are tired.

The expectations were so high on him, rightfully so, but there were pundits ready to pounce the first time he wasn't brilliant, and they did.

He's even better than I expected. Sounds strange to say when you look at his numbers but he's still trying to figure out the game and his game.
Pop gets heat and hate from gamblers and fantasy players, but there is no better coach for him. I like that Pop caps his minutes. What are they playing for? As good as he is, he was never going to take them to the playoffs.

He's so fun to watch, especially when the team plan is to develop him and play for the future.

And the Wolves have been good against them.

Speaking of that, when Edwards blew up his ankle, it looked awful. The kid is tough as hell. I wish we could find a way to rest him more.

His ceiling is Chamberlain + LeBron? He's probably the best player in the NBA within the next two seasons.

Chauncey Billups is going into the hall of fame.

The Wolves helped resurrect his career but then thankfully we didn’t need him.

SGA will be eligible to sign an extension next summer that would pay him over 81 million for the 2031-31 season per ESPN. Close to a million a game.
He is IMO one of the top 5 players in the NBA and so dang young. Him and Ant will be seeing a lot of each other.

Hey, we had Terrel Brandon and....oh my God, we let Chauncey Billups walk because we had Terrel Brandon...that's so depressing.

Did you guys know that it is hard for Draymond Green to accumulate wealth because of fines and taxes?

What an out of touch buffoon.

The guy should actually get thrown out of every game he plays him. Complains constantly. Plus, he sets about 50 illegal moving screens every game and gets away with it.

I did not watch the game last night, maybe someone who did can comment. The number that stuck out for me was Doncic only had 1 assist.

In the Wolves series Dallas obviously figured out a hole in the defense with all those dunk feeds from Doncic. Any time a Wolves big moved to help defend him, a Dallas big would go immediately to the rim for a dunk. Boston must have watched a lot of video and schemed a way to shut that down. The Mavs as a team only had 9 assists. Doncic alone was getting that vs Wolves.

Part of it that Boston is super switchable with really physical defenders so they don't need to double-off their man. For example, all those lobs to Lively and Gafford just weren't there against the Celtics.

You can count on Boston to lay one egg at home.

Tied 1-1 after next game.

But, with Porzingus playing well, Boston should be favored to win it all.

The entire Dallas team only had like seven assists I think. Edit: I see you noted that, 9 actually. I was posting from my phone in bright sunlight, my reading comprehension is bad enough without that.

Pistons fire coach Monty Williams after one season, owe him $65 million

The Detroit Pistons on Wednesday fired coach Monty Williams after one season, absorbing the remaining $65 million on his contract.
