Anyone here know, has Tom Brady been vaccinated ?

Oh good god ... inevitable ...

So far during the pandemic, Brady has only started for the grocery store four times before having to return to his car for his mask.

Cousins has forgotten his mask in the car sixteen times during the pandemic. One of those times he tried to enter the store using a 'prayer shield' (a combination of prayer and shaking a box of Hot Tamales) but was asked to leave.

Weird we are picking on these three. Almost like some have a problem with a religious QB? Religious WR or Safety? Lets give it a break....

Its weird we're talking about 3 Vikings?

Two of which were just the subject of a story yesterday about not being vaccinated?

Again...my preference was to get vaccinated...I don't think it is much of story when 50% aren't vaccinated yet. Run with whatever you want. I also don't gawk, nod, kick, or throw stones at anyone that hasn't received the vaccination yet at my workplace. Still their right.

Plus, there's a lot of overlap between religion, politics, and vaccination, which is actually much, much weirder than citing three players who have questions around vaccine status at this point in time/the news cycle.

Yes, continue to move the goalposts.

What is weird about this discussion?

Just today the biggest NFL news is the loosening of COVID restrictions for vaccinated players and how it will affect unvaccinated players.

Yesterday Smith and Thielen offered up the fact they aren't vaccinated.

Cousins was introduced into the discussion because he's been the most outspoken member of the team when it comes to being anti-mask and anti-vax.

Should we ignore the current news and talk more about Hunter's contract?

I don't think Tom has a problem with religion. I know I don't. Humor nothing more. Plus he was responding to Marty's eventual inevitable leadership comparison between Cousins and Brady based on vaccine compliance.

Getting the vaccine either way is someone's right. Especially since it isn't FDA approved. I took the vaccine--doesn't mean I have the right to condemn someone that hasn't. Thinking that is what Tom meant with the joke......

FDA granted emergency approval and the final approval application is submitted and will be approved any day. 2 of the 3 HPV vaccines are mRNA and have FDA approval. DNA vaccines have been used since 1998 or so.

As to someone's right. The Supreme Court has already ruled on this subject and when it comes public health issues the government does have the right. It's why other vaccines have been mandated. And quarantines. Etc.

This is already been retried in Texas where a Healthcare system is being sued by a few hold out employees. First ruling by a federal judge (it's not against Texas law so it had to be moved to federal) is that it is constitutional.

Thanks for seeing through the deeply philosophical underpinnings and noticing the shallow 'attempt at humor'. Which it was.

Quarantine and mask mandates are one thing...forcing vaccinations...we will see. Do you get a flu shot every year? I do but I choose to.

There's pinning someone down and stabbing with a vaccine, and then there's denying people access to things like certain employment opportunities, recreational activities, education, etc, if they refuse to get vaccinated. You don't have to get vaccinated, but you might not be able to fly on common carriers, etc. That is not only legal, it's fair and ethical.

Absolutely.

Just like I have zero problem with how the NFL is handling it. No, they can't force players to get vaccinated, but they can make them get tested every damn day and severely limit their access.

Its a lot like what is happening here in Vegas. If you're a dealer in a casino (or a stripper, for that matter), and you don't get vaccinated, you have to be tested every day that you work AND its on your dime. For every single test.

You know what else is a personal choice? Spending more time in the film room, taking extra reps after practice, mentoring young players. Why not quit all that as well as long as you’re willing to jeopardize the competitive edge of the team. It’s a personal choice to stay in shape too right?

I do have to get a flu shot every year. I have a sticker that I have to put on my hospital badge that states I have had the flu shot.

Did you have to get shots before going to school? Think covid is the first vaccine that has been mandatory (I hope we don't get to that point)? Flu shots are mandatory by almost every healthcare org with exceptions. Those exempted still have to take extraordinary precautions.

Public health vs individual choice/freedom/right. Supreme Court has already ruled on it.

I'm vaccinated and I still have to get tested weekly (I work a second job in a clinical setting). Sometimes, you have to go through stuff to get what you want, or even need. In my case, that's a weekly frontal cortex probe.

If we can't come together on this we're ****ed I think. The devisive nature of rights based on beliefs. If there's blow back to the most important aspect, getting on top of this through herd immunity, there's going to be blow back to - you can't come to this meeting, go to this place, do this or that.

I'm having a hard time working out my feelings. If the player performs does it matter that you don't like the man? I think some are just asking for religious tolerance to a dangerous degree now.

I'd prefer to like the player as a human, but its not mandatory. That said there is a wide chasm between how I feel about someone that has very different faith views and someone who is a child/spouse abuser, for example.

I do have issues if a choice a player makes puts the team's season in jeopardy.

Well I sure hope Adam Thielen and Harrison Smith are prepared to wear masks all season. Idiots.

Has the vaccine been made available to all Americans yet?
They're young and healthy. They are probably on the bottom of the priority list for the vaccine.

How could someone living in America not know this?

Don't forget: "Then the is it 2 weeks for full efficacy?"
