The Vikings got through last season with none of them vaccinated. Seems like a good chance they can manage this season with none of them vaccinated.

the usual exaggerated training camp reports ... some criminal activity ... a covid embarrassment.

Looking at it coldly, this year is going to be way more than the usual roller coaster.

we've known about gladney for months, and we're very well prepared for his complete exit...what are the cap ramifications of cutting him?....

the nfl needs to shake things up...get vaccinated or you're sitting out this season - exempt list without pay, or the team gets to cut you with no salary cap ramifications...being in the nfl is like being in the military....

what if a fan in the stadium catches covid from a player? - unlikely?, sure, but possible....

How so?

There was no Delta variant last year. Mond just got Covid. No way they make it this year unless they get 90%+ of the team vaccinated, especially the starters.

One team remains below 70%. The overall player percentage in the NFL is 89.4, with 22 clubs over 90% and nine above 95%.

Your 2021 Minnesota Vikings... 64.5 percent vaccinated...

NOTE: I see this as far more than a Kirk F'ing Cousins problem...

Not even close. No one here really believes the unvaccinated numbers has anything to do with Cousins. They just love to hate him. Not one athlete on the team is staying unvaccinated 'cause Kirk is and not one of them would get vaccinated just 'cause he would.

Get real!

Maybe it's his way of getting back: Hey F you Minnesota!

Yep Im sure you are right...

well lets compare and contrast to the SB champs... That health control freak Tom Brady certainly put himself above team right?

Brady clearly stated as the leader he made choices that will allow his team to be most competitive even if not totally in his own ideals.

and The Buccaneers are at the top of NFLs vaccination percentage as a team.

There is a buy from the top down on a winning organization...

The Vikings on the other hand have three players that would rather just QUIT on their career than do whats best for their team...

Who has better shot at the playoffs?

I can't argue with this. The QB is the leader (or at least should be) and when he sets aside his reservations about getting the shot for the good of the team there is a trickle down effect.
I'm sure there are players that are on the fence about this and leadership does matter.

Smith is also a veteran leader on the defense so he is culpable here as well. All the protocols with vax vs nonvax has to be a distraction.

So let me see if I have this straight. Kirk Cousins is an anti-vaxer.....AND he can't run a two-minute offense?

Just to put a number on transmissibility: to catch last year's strain you needed about 15 minutes of exposure. The Delta strain is transmitted with only 5 minutes.

I bet a little money on the Vikings being under on season win total, I figure I might as well get something out of it if Vikings miss playoffs.

Cousins not getting vaccinated will likely blow up in their face during the regular season. Only the vaccine gets the protocols lessened (that's my understanding).

The Vaccine is a simple math problem to me. Look at odds of good things vs bad things happening to you if you get vaccine/don't get vaccine and pick the best (which is the vaccine). The fact that Cousins can't process it that way tells me something about his decision making process, and it isn't good.

The Cousins/Smith thing is 1 issue at hand but we have others.

1. New Oline coach weeks before the season
2. Reading the Line is all over the place. 1 week in and reading "Hill filling in for.....x" is not helpful
3. 1st time OC
4. Who's our kicker? We've been so reliable the past 5 years....
5. Just released a first round pick at corner
6. Is Hunter fully back?

Just a lot has to go right for us to even be average at this point.

Really the only thing that concerns me is #2

The rest I fell will be just fine.

I am disappointed the lack of leadership from the players. Adam Theilen should be grouped in with Cousins and Smith as well.

Same thing happened at work. My supervisor was anit vaci and his crew seemed to follow suit. His area was around 30% and the rest of my areas were over 90%. Then complained to me about using vacation time when he missed work three different times for Covid related problems.
Just stupidity at this point that players and people are not getting this done. Very short sighted and selfish on their part in many ways.

Just being real my man. RS did some really good things in the offseason IMO and he can't control the Covid crap. He also tried hard to upgrade the OLine even though that still scares the crap out of me. What I can't understand is the K situation. They did absolutely nothing there and it's been a huge problem since Zimmer has been here.

We were thin enough to begin with and then they resigned Dozier and that made us even thinner. Classic subtraction by addition.

I'm vaccinated. Will that protect me from the Delta variant?

I think the kicking is directly attributable to Zimmer. I honestly believe that he gets inside the kickers heads and messes them up.

I was wondering why I can't seem to get interested in the Viking's upcoming season.
You just laid it out pretty well. It's hard to get fired up when the team has more question marks than answers.

A few weeks ago I (or I should say my son did it for me) bet a $10 parlay on all the division winners AND I bet $10 on the Vikes to have the best record in the NFL (that sucker is going to pay out BIG!!!)

C'mon guys! Sometimes I think this has become the anti Viking fan club.

no team is perfect. We added way more talent than I had expected before the offseason started.
I haven't been this excited for a season in at least 5 years. We are loaded back up on defense and the offense should be very good. Hopefully as the season progresses so does the offensive line. A lot things need to go right for every team. We are set up great for this season.
Kicking ok sure, but it can't get any worse. Things are looking up. we are getting the Covid wake up call out of the way early. What could have been better than Mond getting Covid right now under the current circumstances?

The negativity just amazes me sometimes. The biggest difference from this year to last is we added a ton of talent and we have a ton of talent healthy and back again.
I swear many of you walk around your car in the morning to debate which tire is going to fall off today or how long before my wife cheats on me?

It will be a fun ride this year, things are looking damn good.
