Can we transfer some of our RB scouts and have them scout offensive linemen?

Rose Jr. looks like he could fill Boone's shoes, who filled Jet's shoes; both Mattison and Cook are studs. We can draft RB's.

Anyone heard how bad the knee injury is for the rookie?

… the worst part is

you just know Spiels is furiosly scanning the waiver wire, doing his ‘due diligence’, looking for street OL to ‘beef up’ our competition. These are dudes rejected from competing on other teams … we will scrape up somebody by end of week, guaranteed.

pre-season anxiety and over-reaction? Sure, but Spielman’s approach to OL building is no more evolved than buying lotto tickets.

end of whine (for now).

So who are you cutting of the 9 or 10 they are keeping?

Darrisaw, Davis, Bradbury, Udoh, Brandel, Hill, O'Neil, Cleveland, and Cole.

I think Dozier is gone.

The two from the Athletic; Chad has us at 10 keeping Dozier; Arif has us at 9 cutting Dozier.

There is a reason why some don't have jobs yet.....$$$, injuries, or they just aren't good.

that was my whole point.

& my point is he has us at 9 or 10 (with Dozier)....we aren't adding unless there is an injury. Samia and Dozier are most likely gone.

Unconventional yes, but Cousins should play three qtr this week. Hopefully his gets sacked three or more times as well. The last few years it’s seems like he plays like crap for a few games, until he gets banged around and berated a bit. Let’s just get that out of the way earlier this year. He seems to need a little wake up call to pull on his big boy pants and get going.

He's been kicked around pretty good so far this season by just about everyone - maybe that'll be enough ...

Maybe I need to drive up there and intercept his mini van and kick the shit out of him so he's ready for week one

This may be the worst post I've ever read.

Earlier I saw a tweet that had Wyatt Davis rated 5th this preseason among rookie lineman [I know, like that means anything]

... but here's some tape that doesn't look bad - not sure if the people he was blocking are destine to be cut soon bc they suck or whatever

Will Ragatz@WillRagatz
#Vikings rookie RG Wyatt Davis got off to a rough start on Saturday, but he showed promise as a run blocker in the second half. Some plays that stood out to me:

I did say unconventional lol And I do understand coaches rarely think outside the box so this could never happen. Reserve judgement until week three and see if you change your mind.

It's a trend that Cousins has shown each year he looks incredibly bad early.

That is definitely left guard play we haven’t seen in a while..maintains contact, hold the POA, and moves the LOS forward, without drawing a fn holding penalty.

I’ll take 2 more like that dude, one for the right slot and one as a backup..

Blake Brandel “may have to be the swing tackle” per Zimmer. He intimated that the Vikings still want to get Oli Udoh some reps at left tackle, where Brandel has replaced Rashod Hill in moments at practice and played the entire game vs. DEN, but Brandel looks to have the inside track towards earning a spot as a backup tackle on the 53 given his position flexibility between left/right tackle, even some center earlier in camp.

we've got a $2.5m dead cap on colquitt, but if it's time to move on - so be it....

Will Ragatz@WillRagatz
After Britton Colquitt's poor outing against the Broncos, the #Vikings worked out punter Max Duffy today.
Duffy is a 28-year-old Australian who played Aussie rules football and then punted for Kentucky for three years, winning the Ray Guy award in 2019 with a 48.1-yard average.

Gabe Henderson@GabeAHenderson
You can tell Zim had an intense post-game locker room speech this past Saturday. The intensity at practice today was no joke.

Backup Guard, correct? Davis and Cleveland should be the Starting Guards at least by week 2-3.

I don't know, I didn't see the game, reports here had Davis at LG. And Cleveland has been practicing at LG all preseason I believe.

Davis played RG against Denver. It was Samia-Cole-Davis when Davis replaced Dozier.

Paul Allen said Cole is bigger than Bradbury and suggested that Cole could give Bradbury serious competition. I thought Cole was supposed to be another undersized athletic interior guy, but maybe he's added a few pounds.

So Udoh didn't play at all against Denver. That is a little curious considering he is currently #1 on their depth chart at RG, with 0 live NFL snaps at that position, you would think they would at least want him to get his feet wet.

Right, I guess going up against Pierce and Tomlinson in practice is sufficient for now. The tweet below has the snap counts.

So you don't consider Darrisaw injured?

Also, are you referring to both Chad and Arif as 'he', as in 'he has us at 9 or 10? Nice point ... who the hell are they ... er, he to decide how many OL we should have on our roster the next two weeks before final cutdown?

Who would I cut? You make it sound like only Samia and Dozier are expendable ... as if anything is cemented for Udoh, Davis, Brandel, Bradbury ... much less Samia, Bailey, Cole, Cabral, Hinton, Kslezarcyk. If I could pry loose, trade or steal any real OL competition, I would.
