Alex Smith can get you nice regular season numbers, just like Kirk.

So Kelce got some nice regular season numbers with Smith, but went nowhere in the playoffs, just like Kirk. Get a better QB, and you can go further.

Get Watson or Lawrence.

Vikings could offer the Jags their next 10 first round draft choices and they wouldn't except.

Jags coach wants to win as quickly as possible, he will put in 3-4 years max.

Do you think KC would take 10 first round picks for Mahomes? I wouldn't.

I would have no issues trading Cousins for Minshew and a couple of high draft picks....same with the Jets for Darnold. I like those two gun slingers plus they probably could still draft Lance. Double down on QB for once.

The Chiefs earned a 42.2 team pass blocking grade in the Super Bowl per PFF, their lowest since Week 14 of 2010

For comparison the Vikings earned a team pass block grade below 42 three times just in the last year.

(Nick Olson on Twitter)

Still want to blame Kirk for the losing season?

No I want to and will blame spielman for refusing to address offensive line and Zimmer for using a 1960 style offense because of the shit show players who can’t block for 4 seconds on a passing play.

Great plan except they're both significantly worse than Kirk, and neither team is absorbing that contract and giving up picks as well as a QB.

For some reason you are set on singling me out on everything, even a spitball. What the hell is your plan?

Funny, in the last couple of pages, he has had as many responses to each of Mark and Todd as he has to you.

Was their something invalid to his response to trading Cousins for Minshew or Darnold? The numbers seem to back him up.

I'm hearing that Wentz is likely to be traded this week to either the Bears or the Colts. It's interesting to me that those two cities are only about 186 miles from each other.

If Wentz goes to the Bears, then Sam Darnold is likely to go to the Colts. I don't know what the Colts have to offer for either, but just throwing it out there I think Cousins would do really well in Indy with their offensive line and if I was the GM of the Colts I would be trying to swing perhaps a three team trade with the Texans and the Vikings. I don't know if the money would work and perhaps it wouldn't. Let's say the Colts offer a first, second and third in two different draft years (ie. first and third this year and a second next). Those chips could go to the Texans along with the Vikings first and one of their thirds and perhaps a second next year. The Texans would get two number ones, two number twos and two number threes and use them as chips to get the third or fourth quarterback in the draft plus get Sam Darnold on the cheap.

The other idea would be that it could just be between the Vikings and Colts and the Vikings use their first and the Colts first to move up and get that third or fourth quarterback plus get Darnold on the cheap as a backup competing with a rookie to start this year.

I'm guessing that the first four quarterbacks will all go in the top ten. Would you agree or disagree with that?

I should add that with the promotion of Clint Kubiak, and the fingerprints of "let's keep everything continuous when Covid is still an issue", I honestly can't really believe that Cousins will be traded. If it by chance did happen though, I think it would have to be the Colts or the Niners simply because they do not have the high first round draft pick to offer in trade and both of those teams clearly are looking to pick up a quality veteran starter.

Look I'm for going big on Watson, but I am not going to go back to the boldness debate. Minshew or Darnold to me seems more like a strategy of hope. Hope the young gunslinger will develop into something better than Cousins, which I doubt. I also reject the idea that the Vikings can't win with Cousins. Spend the picks and fix the damn offensive line. Address the middle of the defensive line and shore up the defense. Avoid the spiral of trading down.

I'm not speaking for bohum. That's just my take.

I heard that the Vikings were considering this. I guess it just became official.

The #Vikings have added Keenan McCardell (@KeenanMcCardell) as WRs coach.

McCardell served in the same role for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2017-2020.

I think the Vikes/Spielman/Zimmer have had the most luck drafting DE.....my bold move would involve trading Hunter as a way to get Watson and draft Defense and Olne with the rest of the picks. Cousins to SF, Garropolo to Houston, Hunter to Houston.

Worst case scenario keep Cousins and draft Lance/Fields.....maybe double down on QB and get value next year for Cousins if you can't this year. That would be my worst case scenario but we also don't have a backup QB worthy (if Cousins goes down) so it makes a ton of sense also.

I have very little to no problem with Cousins. Especially this year but he's going to be a massive problem moving forward. There are 3 outcomes:

1. You keep him and he eats way too much cap so you can't build around him
2. You extend him which keeps him around longer than I/many want
3. You trade him and bring in a new, similar, problem

No good way out of that last extension.

He was one of my favorite receivers when I was younger. I don't know how he'll work out as a coach, but he was a smart player.

If the goal is to get rid of Cousins while minimizing the financial impact, then a trade is the only viable option. It would cost the Vikings $10M in dead cap space, but you would save his $21M salary for the year and the following year's balloon payment of $45M. By all means do it, if it is part of a grand plan to get Watson or #1 in the draft.

Don't do it as a cost saving maneuver. If they aren't going to upgrade from Cousins, then they need to restructure him and put a real offensive line in front of him. Whether people want to admit it or not, he is a top 10 QB. He isn't Brady, Mahomes, Wilson, Breeze, Watson or Erin, but he is in the next tier. Put a good team around him and he will win.

You could have been because that's where I am, with the additional wrinkle to let Zim be Zim and Rick be Rick so they sink or swim together. They'd have to catch lightening in a bottle, but you can squint and see a Lombardi if the stars line up just right.
- Wonnum, Gladney, Dantzler all studs, Hughes good enough, all healthy.
- Hunter back and better than ever
- Pierce solid
- Barmore/FA whomever solid
- Barr and Kendricks back and better than ever
- Harris signs lower-end deal and we get 2019 performance from him and Smith
- IOL solves itself, maybe with Cleveland and Bradbury getting stronger/better and a decent FA/draft pick
- Klint uses TE to full potential and both Conklin and Smith step up
- FA/Draft pick gives blazing outside speed
- Principals stay healthy and continue to shine
- In 2022 Super Bowl, Zimmer doesn't waste TO on a bad challenge so Kirk can use it on 5-play, 60-yard drive to set-up walk-off FG by guy we just signed today to compete at K.

Drop mic, stop watching the NFL for good.

With #Vikings signing kicker Greg Joseph should be noted that $1.8 million of Dan Bailey's $2.7 million 2021 salary becomes guaranteed on March 19, third day of new league year. Would be a surprise if Vikings hang on to Bailey after that unless he agrees to amend that on contract

Did I miss a signing? The above found on Twitter. I will go back to see from whom.

From Chris Tomasson.

Greg Joseph--

South African. Will be 27 when the season starts.

FG = 17/20 (85%)
XP = 34/38 (90%)
Career Long = 51 Yards

Was perfect in the 2019 playoffs for Tennessee Titans. Meaning -- didn't miss.

Drafted by Seattle Dragons in XFL.

Florida Atlantic alumnus.

Joseph is 66.3% touchbacks on kickoffs during his short career.
Forbath is 39.4%, which was probably one of the reasons they drafted Carlson to take over.
Carlson is at 58.2%. Bailey 56.2%.

By team TB% it looks like 3 teams were 80+% last year and 2 were in 2019. None 90 or above.
