Very creative getting off the line and his route running. The other thing that popped from the video was the ball placement. Say what you will about Cousins but he has elite accuracy.

Seeing release after release really shows JJ's suddenness off the snap. He made some of those CBs look like they were at the collegiate level. And those throws were nice.

Makes one wonder what the Eagles were thinking when they went with Reagor. Faced with the same decision, I wonder how many teams would have made the same decision.

Dare I say, the regret might almost be "Moss like"?

With no character issues with JJ, a pure failure of talent evaluation. Of course, we may have blown it by going with Bradbury instead of one or two of those that went later.

Bradbury was named the best Collegiate Center in the Nation that year....

Is Atlanta ready to eat $40.55 MM in dead cap?

Atlanta has asked teams that have inquired about Julio Jones for a first-round draft pick in return, per sources. Others around the league don’t believe the Falcons ultimately will get a first for the perennial Pro-Bowl wide receiver.

Don't know how they will do it but it will be after June 1st trade. We don't really have the cap space to entertain and how much does he have left?

He only played in 7 games last year and had somewhere between 700-800 yards rcvng

His problem isn't his tank,

It's staying healthy.

and he wants to win. That's why HE wants to go to NE

And I wouldn't give up a 1st for him at his age and cap hit.

I'm so Excited about this up and coming season that I had to share;

With all the talent coming back from our Offense, a young up and

coming OL that we've been clamoring for for years now, a younger Offensive

coordinator that not only knows and understands our system, but can bring in

some new inovative nuances to possibly bring us more up to date, and all the free agent acquisitions

to make our D formidable once again(Give me Hunter, or give me Death)

I just have an excitement level for our team, that I haven't felt for a couple years.

Anyway, that's all I have, just wanted to share.

Thanks for the optimism.

I am bit more guarded with mine.

But I do think the Defense will be much better. with returning players that missed all or part of last year. addtions, and Zimmer's pride being bruised badly last season, you can bet this unit will be better. The offense was top ten despite having an historically bad interior Oline. Hopefully the drafted additions can bring this unit up to average.

Cause with this new and improved Defense, and the playmakers on offense, raising the Oline play from ultimate sucktitude to average could make this team a deep push into the playoffs good. But there are some big IFs to overcome to get there.

When was the last time a defense FA signing under Zimmer didn't work out? We don't do many of them but they seem to work out. So I'm with you Big Sky on defense.

Offense - all about oline. I think Darrisaw and Wyatt have a chance to really elevate the talent on the oline.

If we stay healthy - I'm also looking forward to the season.

If a Hammy can't stay healthy it is a tank issue. Body can't do it for a full season....

Aaron Rogers giving up $500k to make a point. What are the odds he plays for GB this year?

It really suprised me that Ngaukoue flamed out so bad.... they usually have a good eye for what will work in the Zim defense... but I'm hoping Pierce/Tomlinson is a double homerun in the FA market.

Well ... going back 3 years ...

DE Yannick Ngakoue – Debacle
DT Michael Pierce – Opt Out
DT Shamar Stephen – No Impact
LB Anthony Barr – Injury (Doesn't play to expectations or contract)
DT Sheldon Richardson – Short Timer (a little better than Stephen)

In other words, there's a variety of reasons why the D FAs may not pan out.

I would agree with Trekgeekscott, there's reason for optimism but guarded.

I think the reason was 2 fold. 1 with Hunter out for the season, they weren't really able to platoon Ngaukwe, as a 60 play guy he wore down badly against the run. 2 the season was going in the tank, I think they decided to get what they could for him.

Would we categorize that as a sky is blue comment?

Yannick was a trade.
Including Pierce as a FA signing that didn't work out? Um ok.
Shamar Stephen was asked to play NT a lot more with Joseph injured and the optout last year. He also played pretty close to the same as the first time, Zimmer/Patterson want DT to occupy blockers and didn't have a Tom Johnson to rotate with I wouldn't call it a FA that didn't work out, but whatever.
Barr was a re-sign imo. If you want to call him a FA signing more power to you.
Sheldon signed a 3 yr/36M dollar contract and without looking up stats, would say he was pretty successful when here. We also got a comp 3rd rounder if I remember right.

By my definition of a successful FA signing, none you listed were unsuccessful (or they weren't FA signings).

EDIT to not be mean to a poster.

In the 90s, I thought in general, the powerhouses [SF, Dallas, GB] had their great players be mostly draft picks on their offense, and free agents on their defense.

But it didn't seem that way as much after 2000, seemed more balanced. Maybe it was just a small sample size for the 90s, and means very little, although I like the formula.

Maybe a better formula is to use high draft picks, or more expensive free agents on the side of the ball that is opposite of your HC.

Your HC is probably more likely to develop picks from the later rounds, or is less likely to develop later round players on the opposite side of the ball.
