Don't like seeing $4+ M in dead cap with Rudolph just so that we can stay somewhat afloat this offseason. Another instance of Spielman kicking debt down the road.

I can easily see him giving up a 2022/23 first rounder for a second rounder this year.

The 4M+ is already accounted for.

His cap number this year(2021) was 9.5M. Subtract 4.4M dead money and you get 5.1M less against the cap.

Or are you saying this would have been different after June 1st?

It's turning into a buyer's market for guards. Norwell and Zeitler are both being actively shopped right now.

Both have 12M base salaries for 2021.

I'm sure a 4th rounder would do the trick. And then some restructuring.

Try to trade Reiff for one of them straight up, move Ezra to LT, draft another G in round 3 or 4. Line fixed.

There will be some nice options in round three for guards. We were happy getting Samia, though. I don't know if we have time to develop a guard from the third round. Maybe. I mean, it's supposed to be a good draft for offensive line. Obviously I'm confused.

They are talking up Hinton on the Athletic. They say he just needed a year to develop since he came from a Div II school.

Trade Reiff for a guard, Barr for a 3 Tech and draft BPA.

I got the sense of thoroughly burned bridge when Barr backed out on his deal with the Jets last time.

We're building a Hydra of players who can't play guard.

Technically we don't know if Udoh is any good or not and also he is a tackle. Maybe it should be the Samia Dozier beast?

No matter what this regime has done in the past decade this Oline has been a joke. No matter what move they make, my cynical ass sees that it will fail. and then this board will uniformly blame Rick Spielman. So if they do what you want them to do and it predictably fails, because all Oline moves by this team always do, people will look for someone to blame. and it wont be the poster that suggested it that they blame.

It will be RS fault. Because he did the moves.

Technically, I was just talking about OL in general but even more so, about projecting non-proven invisible back-ups to fix vast gaping chasms of ineptitude based on an offhanded positive tweet here or an online comment there.

Just like I turned Phil's offhanded post into a mountainous molehill.
