ORIGINAL: marty Maybe the Vikes should go a similar route to SF, Garapollo/Lance, and go with Cousins/Pickett for one season ? i think that the new regime is going to like what we've got in mond.... What makes you think that? Your Viking fandom or do you have any real knowledge on the guy? As far as I know he could be alright or he could be Christian Ponder bad. I have no idea. it's not my fandom, trust me, mond has most of the characteristics needed to make it - great pocket presence, quick delivery, field vision, anticipation, can hit moving targets.... he just needs a little development and refinement...he already has the ability to play at NFL speed.... Not that this is necessarily determinative or even accurate, but there seems to be a rough consensus among those that cover the team that he looked not just bad, but horrible in the glimpses they got of him during training camp and practice. Maybe there's more to it, but maybe not. When Zimmer chooses Slotter over Mond, you know things weren't going well. Interestingly enough he didn't. Sloter was signed for one game. Mond suited up for that game and was put in late for one drive. Sloter never saw the field. I don't see how Zimmer chose Sloter over Mond here. Its a technicality. Mond got bumped for Mannion, which isn't any better than street free agent Sloter or your local florist. What a shame ... Zimmer new exactly what his own status was.
