Vikes don’t have a game in the next six days. Pack plays AZ a week from yesterday.

My calculation is after they have each played another game, what the records of their opponents will be

so compare combined-versus records but with the Packers playing an extra game? ok.

I was going to do that Tom, I think the Vikes will probably lose to Dallas, and the Packers will beat Washington.

The Pack play at Arizona the following week, not sure on that one.

Packers will win on a 37 yard FG in OT.

Vikes trade Weatherly

"Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Minnesota is sending Weatherly and a 2023 seventh-round pick to Denver for a 2022 seventh-round pick."

Sure scammed them. Does that make about six Weatherlys worth one 7th round pick?

It's peanuts but on that level Spieman is the bitch. No straight up trade getting a 7th vs nothing...Spelman had to sweeten the pot with peanut shells to get a deal.

There is no further evidence needed to determine that Rick Spielman is a major part of the reason this team has been mired in pure mediocrity, for over a decade..

FFS.. Did we neeeeeeeeeeed a 2022 seventh rounder that badly?

Fn Spielman won’t be here, I hope, in 2023 , so him giving that pick, and a player.. is just asinine.

How can the Wilf’s and Co. be ok with how the team is playing, let alone the money spent and tied up on decrepit and over aged underperforming players.

Maybe Bigo.

The refs will favor Washington for the 1st 2 quarters, and some of the 3rd quarter, to make the game competitive.

In the 4th quarter, holding calls will kill the WTFs offensive drives, while the Packers will benefit from noncalls of PI and holding on their defensive 2ndary, while the WTF defensive 2ndary will get called on anything close, and maybe even a phantom PI call in the 4th quarter.

Packers win, but don't cover the 8. Or the refs leave it alone, call the game legitimately, and the Packers win easily, and cover the spread. WTF won't win this game, and the refs will not favor them in the 4th quarter.

also, we moved stocker (te) down to the practice squad....

we presently have three tight ends on our 53, and four tight ends on the practice squad - and non of them is named smilth....

the vikes are probably more active with their practice squad than any other team...

it will be interesting when we shift nwangwu 'wide out' a la abdullah and cook...send him deep with a linebacker trailing, only, throw him the ball....

I will be very interested to see if nwangwu ever sees the light of day. They are treating him like a legitimate draft pick (by releasing abdullah who was contributing on some level) which … defies logic. Even the disjointed logic of our regime.

When your team is circling the drain, its the little craps that keep you interested.

Small salary cap space, trivial draft pick improvement.

Clearly they think Patrick Jones is ready to be DE #4, and so keeping Weatherly only slows Jones's development.

Plus they get a roster spot to protect another player. Maybe that was Brandel, because it was weird to promote him when Peterson went on IR. And the trade creates a spot for maybe Nickerson as a replacement CB.

Not a huge trade, obviously, but lots of little benefits.

I'd say our 3-3 record is Fair even if we you consider ourselves unfortunate to walk away with losses on the road to the current #1 seed in the AFC & NFC. The near losses at home to the Lions and Panthers evens it out.

It looks like we might hug .500 all year depending on breaks good or bad.

Probably in playoff contention until the end

Maybe we smack GB around good our 1st meeting and make things interesting.

Probably couldn't want win against Dallas any more than I do...

Yeah I would say around 8-9 is an okay expectation as well – we'd have to win one packers game or both bears games (unlikely), beat the Lions, Steelers, 49ers. Can't see us beating the Chargers, Rams, Ravens, Cowboys (really painful to to say that). So, the 8-9 would be on the high side of expectation. Cold-blooded, I see us going 7-10.

Outside of the NFC west (which will send a wildcard team for sure) everybody else except for the current division leaders (Packers, Cowboys, Bucs) look like .500 or worse teams ... so a wildcard game for us would not be outrageous. Not sure I will care much at that point.

With our luck, we awkwardly back into the playoffs, surprise a legitimate team in the wildcard round, get absolutely destroyed the next game - then have to deal with the regime talking all offseason about building on a 'great win in the playoffs'.

He isn't getting much PT as Griffin is playing so well and even the other guys on the line t(Lynch, Watts, etc.) are showing more and they don't need to even take them out on passing downs.

I think Griffin at the Minimum made Weatherly expendable.
